I have been a patient of Dr Mann for many years, but I will not go back. I called to make an appointment and the call routing sent me to the website (strike one). At the website, I request an appointment, include my insurance info, and then don't receive any confirmation at all (strike two). Couple of weeks later, I call the office to confirm since I hadn't heard from them AT ALL and left a message. Two days later someone called at 8 AM but didn't leave a voicemail. Still no confirmation. I call back and finally get a human that confirms my appointment. A week before my appointment, I receive AT LEAST five calls from an unknown number reminding me of my appointment, and requesting insurance information via phone. I call, get stuck in their call routing software, leave a message, and no one ever calls back. The day of my appointment, I drive 40 minutes to the office for them to tell me that Dr Mann had an emergency and I should have received a call. There was a call from an unknown number, but there was no message. I WILL NOT BE BACK.
Excellent for cataract surgery. We go to the westside location. My wife is currently going to see Dr. Abrams for double vision.
I called to make an eye appointment for something I saw on my eyelid that was concerning. After being put on hold three different times being quizzed about my insurance by the way I have great insurance, and then having to try to self diagnose my eye problem which is the reason why I'm trying to make this appointment I finally gave up. Horrible horrible horrible to try to get into adoctor these days
I went here less than a year ago and the eye exam was good. The optical staff is another story. They were extremely rude and it took them over 2 hours to find my insurance in their system. They had received a packet from UnitedHealth months previous and never opened it. The lady in optical wanted to argue that they did not cover my insurance plan. I asked for copies of my contac and eye exam. Never got the contac exam and the eye exam copy was incomplete. I will never ever go back there again. I drove 30 minutes one way thinking Carmel would be a nice location. I'm not sure if the optical staff was racist but the way I was treated was not right. If thus is the only place I can go for eye care. I will pay full price.
It’s a shame when you have to find a different eye doctor because your doctor will not not see more than two family members at a time. Abrams EyeCare Associates you have lost a family that has never missed an appointment! We have been patients for 18 years and that means nothing! Dr. Mann we will sincerely miss you! Let us know if your policy changes and we will run back. It is hard for parents to get days off for appointments.
I recently called in to make a appointment with Dr. Abrams's at the Carmel location. I was really surprised at the customer service provided by Kim. She was very snarky with me about what was wrong with me. I told her, I have an infection in my eye that was already diagnosed by the doctor a few weeks prior. It was not her questions, but how she was asking them. Kim is rude and should not be speaking with incoming patients. Kim lacks the ability to speak to patients with respect and compassion. These two traits are essential when working in the medical field. Please evaluate your personnel and their ability to answer phones/speak with patients.
Christy who answers the phones is rude. Might be helpful to have some customer service training. My eye doctor and ladies behind the scenes are great, but that first impression is not friendly.
I was very disappointed in the service I received earlier this year and I have been a patient for 10 years. I tried setting up an appointment for my seven year old for the first time. I was discouraged from being with her and was told “she was old enough to see the doctor by herself”. I understand there are covid procedures, but 7 is too young for a patient to be by herself. They allowed me to be with her as an “exception”, but that is a poor policy and I can’t support an office with poor policies for children and their safety. Also, all the expensive equipment in the room. I don’t think she would break anything, but kids get bored when they are waiting. Also the front office staff were very rude when I tried to explain my discomfort. They also said to call back and they would speak to the dr. Well I called back and they said they hadn’t spoken to the Dr. and wouldn’t speak to the Dr. They kept saying it was because of covid I couldn’t be with her (this was also after health professionals had all been vaccinated). I take covid very seriously, but that shouldn’t overrule a child’s safety. I received a survey after my call and expressed what had happened thinking maybe someone else would reach out, but several months have passed and no one has reached out. This is a great practice for adults, but I do not recommend for children.
Some of the best care I have ever received. From my first appointment to my last surgery I can’t say enough great things about Abrams ! The thing that really stands out is the call from my doctor after my surgery and the call from the surgery team he day after my surgery !! They really make you feel so comfortable and secure. Thank you team Abrams !! For my new eyes !!
The Carmel office staff are very professional and friendly. Dr Mann and surgeon Dr Hopen very caring. Dr Hopen called to personally check on me the evening after surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
