This 5 stars is not enough for ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED ME. THEY ALL ARE RATED AT 10 STARS IF NOT HIGHER.
My Mom, Grace S., stayed at Indy Rehab Hospital for 2 weeks following hospitalization for acute onset, multi-system organ failure that basically left her so weak she could not even sit on the side of the bed unaided. The staff worked wonders and everyone took great care of her. Her meals were delivered hot and on time. Her room was kept clean and tidy. The interdisciplinary team was very responsive when questions/concerns were raised. My mom felt safe while in the facility. She felt well cared for by her nurses, especially Deb who treated my mom like she was her mom and was on top of acute changes that were occurring and made sure the doctors were promptly made aware. Nurse Michelle is knowledgeable of all things cardiac and she kept me informed of Mom’s condition and educated me on pertinent issues.Mom’s therapists were great. Laura, OT was so intuitive about what was needed to encourage Mom. She listened and took the time to ensure Mom got the rest periods she needed during her therapy. Sarah, PT, always arrived with a smile, was great in getting Mom moving when it was clear that she was not going to get up - no way, no how! Ha! Lauren, speech therapist, was creative when Mom was disoriented and not knowing if it was 6am or 6pm. She introduced us to a digital clock that aids with disorientation issues. Very clever!A special thanks to Dr. C., Dr. Z., Dr. W., and Rachel, NP for their help in solving Mom’s medical issues prior to discharge. And, last but not least, a thanks to David for making the transition from rehab to home so smooth. Thank you for finding a home health agency that could admit Mom the day after discharge. And, thank you David for calling us at home 2 days later to make sure we were alright and adjusting to our “new normal.”
They were great from the first phone call to them. Once there, they explained everything in detail how it would go while there. My first day of therapy the OT and the PT (Abby and Chris) both talked to me and what my goals and worries were. Coming to them after having Covid/pneumonia- they made me feel comfortable and pushed me just enough to challenge myself and advance faster than I had planned. The staff and facility were both great. Each room was updated and large enough to move around easily even with a wheelchair or walker. Even the food was good. Lots of choices and none of it tastes like you’re in a hospital. I never once second guessed my decision to do my rehab anywhere else. I would suggest anyone who is in need of any of the services IRH provides to call them first.
Routine hip replacement became a 2 week ordeal in three hospitals. The best that happened to me was landing at this rehab facility. Professionalism defined in every regard. The caregivers are kind and caring. THANK YOU MARIE. Thank you Sonya, Naomi, Mia and Michelle. Jessie runs the show in Physical Therapy. It hard to describe the depth and extent of her knowledge. She dedicates herself to making sure every minute of her time with you is of value. All of the doctors are great but I have to single out Dr. Q. He made me feel very special and like I had my own private physician. Facilities are new, clean and bright. The PT/OT equipment and gym are top notch.
The team is caring, compassionate, and focused on providing personalized care. In the time of large hospitals it is a welcomed experience for patient's to receive individualized plans for their maximum improvement. Welcome to being a patient, partner and person again in your own acute medical rehabilitation journey.Indianapolis Rehab Team ~ WELL DONE!
I believe that this facility needs to decide if they do indeed want to be an actual Inpatient Rehab Hospital or a Nursing Home Rehab. This company seems to run the facility with nursing home standards and are not on par with other inpatient rehab hospitals. Nurses are unable to give the care the patient deserves in a rehabilitation setting and are given too many patients to attend to. When I asked the nurses where they were from, I was validated in my rationale because many were previous nursing home or long-term care staff members or the like-minded. You cannot expect an RN to effectively and honestly complete 4 jobs and sign-off on LPNs as well. This is a hospital setting, not a nursing home! That is a disservice to the patients that NEED the acute care! I am not saying that those nurses are not valuable, but that mentality has no business in the acute care world!
Giving 5 stars despite some hiccups because the therapists and medical staff are just that outstanding.Pros:Overall, the PT and OT teams worked very well together, especially Team 2. They were aware and sensitive to my specific rehab needs. They went above and beyond their normal duties to make sure I was getting the support I neededDr. Z was also great throughout the entire stay, answering any questions and making sure I was informed of what was ahead.I also want to acknowledge great nursing/assistance from Ariel, Kayla, Vivian, and Gerald.Cons:Despite the fantastic care and facilities, I did feel that the administrative side of the process was lacking in a few areas. It seems that the case management and marketing teams may be understaffed. I had to go through the doctors and therapists to get answers to my questions on discharge process, medical equipment, follow up appointments etc.If I can offer any constructive feedback, it would be to have some cross-training so that folks can fill in when staffing issues like these arise. I felt that the level of communication from these administrative areas was way too low and I was unsure what to expect as my stay came to an end.Overall, a great facility and team. Seems like they are still going through some growing pains as a new operation, but I think they can easily work through them.
Excellent, compassionate and outstanding professional care. Extremely clean facility with very tasty healthy meals.
This is to express my great appreciation of care that I received in Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital in July 2021. I was transferred to this hospital after surgery on my right leg- I broke tibia an fibula and had no weight bearing condition on this leg. This place made all the difference for me: during my week long stay in this rehab center I was taught how to cope with my condition. The level of physical therapy and occupational therapy was excellent: I want specifically mention the highest professional expertise of Jordayn Jargstorf (PT) and McKenzie Arondelli (OT) . Dr. Christine Groves was amazing!!! Also my thanks to RN Keisha.Sincerely,Irina Belov
I came from a major surgery at St. V trauma center in terrible shape. I have to tell you that Indianaplois Rehabilitation Hospital has been a gift to me. The staff, facility, and food have all been exceptional. Especially , Sarah in PT, Laura in OT, Dorothy in cleaning, and Will in the food. There are many more, but I do want to give accolades to those I’ve mentioned .

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
