I was scheduled for surgery this morning on my left eye after waiting over 2 months, I show up on time, get my gown on and then was ready for surgery i thought, then comes in the head RN and said my surgery is canceled to to a weight loss medication, I had been taking for over 2 months and they had on record.<br>The anesthesiologist and head RN cancelled the surgery due to a weight loss medication that should have been stopped last week, but I was only told to stop the Plavix which I did.<br>I followed all protocols to cover all my health issues and medications numerous times.<br>The wife and I have been are extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and knowledge of two Surgeons and their Staff that could have caused me my life.<br>It is the responsibility of performing Surgeons to consult with the anesthesiologist prior to surgery to cover medications. Also contact my family doctor and cardiologist.<br>Lost vision Sept 6th<br>Surgery November 17th canceled<br>This has not been easy on me or my family.<br>Besides not being able to see in my left eye, headaches, eye pain, poor night vision, depression, anxiety, dizziness just to name a few symptoms I have dealt with for 2.5 months and now having to deal with it for weeks or months more because of your failure to research my health history and medication and thus canceling my surgery.<br>I hope that there is an investigation into why this happened, because the wife and I will be contacting a patient advocate representative to review both offices about this major issue.<br><br>Sincerely,<br><br>Roger L. Dr. Nottage is a great doctor. She is a soft-spoken person. But confident in her knowledge of your eye health. I feel like this review might help patients. In my opinion, She examines you, each visit as if it were your first visit. Confirming her fiding from your previous visit. Making sure no other issues are present. At that point, she will answer any and all questions. She gives you great advice. She is very personable, friendly, and most of all professional. She has performed 3 procedures on both of my eyes. The results were fantastic and pain-free. Dr. Nottage and her team's follow-up care have been great. The staff is friendly, and you feel like they care about you. Thank you, Dr. Nottage.
