Robert A. Batler's Online Review Report Card

I've been a patient of Dr. Batler's for roughly 12 years. Due to severe anxiety and a long history of traumatic experiences with doctors, I had planned to never see a doctor of any kind ever again. After many years of avoidance, Dr. Batler was the first doctor in my adult life to make it safe enough for me to finally undergo diagnosis and treatment. He reassured me that he could treat me despite my anxiety and that he wouldn't hurt me, and he kept both promises. He was very firm about only completing my exam if/when I could relax my muscles even if that meant coming back another day or doing it another way because he didn't want to risk hurting me or further damaging my relationship with doctors. He takes good notes about what's going on in my life so he can splice in non-medical conversation that helps my anxious mind forget he's even a doctor. He walks me to checkout to shake my hand and make sure I’m taken care of. I've been through a surgical procedure with him and pharmaceutical treatments. He’s always found options for me and respected my resistance. We all know "do no harm" is part of the Hippocratic oath but I’m not sure many doctors understand how best to treat anxious patients and how harmful the failure to properly do so can be. Dr. Batler paved the way for me to start seeing other doctors again. I feel gratitude toward him every time I am able to walk into a doctor's office and advocate for my own health. I realize now it’s just a matter of finding the right doctor. Instead of panicking every time my symptoms flare up, I can relax a little more (which generally improves them) because I know I have a really great doctor to turn to. I credit not just my significant reduction in urological symptoms to him, but my overall health as well.

My first visit & I was satisfied. Dr. Batler LISTENS to me. Thourough examination. Explained everything to me. Answered all of my questions. Gave me different options. He did NOT rush through anything. I felt very comfortable with him. He made me feel relaxed. I trust him and would not hesitate to see him again!

My husband has been a patient for a couple years and we are so grateful we found Dr Batler. He took easily 45 min in his office explaining all the treatment options for my husbands prostate cancer. He went over all our questions and his recommendations. He made us completely comfortable with our options. He then performed surgery and my husband has had the best outcome we never even thought was possible. So amazingly glad we found this doctor.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Butler for being an amazing, kind, and very supportive doctor who treats his pts like family!! He has been wonderful for my husband from day 1 that we found his prostate cancer?? I would recommend him to anyone for sure??

After a sudden, possibly serious, health issue I was referred to Dr. Batler. I found him to be caring, empathetic, easy to talk to, professional, knowledgeable and responsive. Knowing I was worried, he was able to reassure me and lighten things up in conversation with me and my husband. He acted quickly to schedule me for a CT and provided an appointment to discuss results immediately following the scan when he also performed a cystoscopy. Dr. Batler was exactly the doctor I needed for a sudden unexpected bladder issue. I highly recommend this doctor to persons experiencing need for a skillful, kind, caring, urologist. Thank you, Dr. B., I am immensely grateful for the care you have provided to me.

I had a very nice first visit with Dr. Batler. You can tell he is well experienced doctor. I would recommend Dr. Batler.

This male urologist is completely dismissive of female patients. Even when I only needed an answer to some questions about my urostomy, he actually walked out and left the room while I was still talking. When I went to pay, he was at the desk, and despite his rudeness, I tried to thank him and shake his hand and he just laughed at me and said "Whatever." I would not recommend him to any female.

Dr. Batler is fine. Seems like he is a professional and knows what he is doing, but you have to have patience when trying to get ahold of a real person for test results. Push this button, push that button, etc, etc. I thought they would call me after my MRI, but after a week I figured out they weren't going to call me, so I called them and had to leave a message. It was 2:40pm and the recording said after 2:30 they wouldn't return calls till the next day.

He is the best did a great job of treating my medical illness.

He is all business. He could smile more but as a Dr he explained things fully as to why surgery was not an option because of other health issues. Good and Knowledgeable Dr. Could smile more
