List of Scott R. Hobson's Reviews
Very happy with eyelid surgery done by Dr. Hobson. Results were great.
I do not recommend this doctor. I usually don't leave reviews on anything but I want people to know that this doctor is very arrogant. Makes you feel like you can't ask a question without him being so sarcastic and impatient. My dad has been a patient of his recently and from the beginning this doctor has had no bedside manners at all. After his surgery he didn't even talk to the family and go over anything about the surgery. My dad has had complications with his eye after having cancer removed and this doctor did the reconstructive surgery of the eyelid. If you want a doctor that is kind and patient and shows compassion for his patients then I would suggest you find another doctor. That is what I am going to do for my dad. I saw other people saying the same thing about his rudeness. It would be a great idea for this doctor to get some education about bedside manners and maybe then he could give out at least a pinch of compassion with his patients. Also the staff could use some education on patient management in their office but that's another story that I won't get into. Just think twice before you get this doctor. I wish we would have.
He's rude and not kind. Don't recommend.
Office staff was friendl and wait time good. But was when the Dr. Hobson came in, was rushed and did not take time to explain anything to me, less than 5 min. Not a comfortable visit. Am looking for a different doctor.
You (yes, you, dear reader) deserve better than this guy. No one deserves to be treated the way this man handles his patients. He's abrasive and cruel. He doesn't take your concerns or desires for your care into account at all. Just pushes you to have surgery. He didn't even do his job--examine my cornea. He just talked at me condescendingly for 15 minutes and shoved me out the door. Here are some of the highlights of the visit. For context, I have Bell's Palsy: - "There are surgical options, but people who do that end up looking like the Joker." - "You won't ever look the same again. You might develop synkinesis, but I don't feel like explaining that." - "They probably recommended physical therapy and muscle stimulation, right? That's a waste of time and won't work" (The rest of my medical team strongly disagrees) - "You should see a shrink instead." - "Young women are the only ones who are really concerned about having Bell's Palsy because it affects their appearance." (I shouldn't need to justify that it's way more complicated than that--I can't shut my eye fully, which is why I reached out to this guy for help in the first place.) Under no circumstances would I EVER consider going back to this place, and I think every medical professional should be made aware that he's a monster. He's not someone *I* would want to stake my medical reputation on. HORRIBLE. HOW DOES HE HAVE A MEDICAL LICENSE?!
Dr Hobson is very rude, he does not have good bedside manners. I would not recommend
Was told I needed eyelid surgery for widened vision. After surgery the stitches did not work out and became infected on both ends of of lids. Developed a grape size infection pocket that sent me to ER. Dr Hobson looked at it and sent me home with no antibiotics and I ended up in severe pain again having to return to the ER again because the infection spread through my sinuses. One eye also still drooped and was told it wasnt my lid..it was my eyebrow! But yet he performed lid surgery. Doctors at ER were shocked this eye surgeon never put me on antibiotics before scheduling me for removal of the abscess. Bedside manner is arrogant, uninformative, cold and he cant wait to get out of the room. I paid off my bill with a direct letter to him and 4 months later received another bill for the 2 seconds he looked at my abscess. This experience was very costly, agonizing and unproductive. I ended up with one eye brightly open and other eye still droopy. BEWARE.
Does a good job. Very kind, wouldn't want anyone else.
He took about 3 minutes with my elderly mother at each appointment and made her feel very rushed and misunderstood. At her last appointment with him, she told him that her eye was still very sore almost 3 months after surgery, at which point he poked the corner of her eye in a rough, hard manner. When she said, “Ouch”, he said, “No pain, no gain!” How terrible. I’m not allowing her to go back to this animal.
Had eye surgery one year ago. I had dropping lids and had trouble seeing sideways. My eye dr recommended me to do this. Well the worst thing I ever did. My stitches were taken out and the next morning I woke up to the area opening up. Called and said they could do anything that day and to come back the next morning. Had to have the whole surgery done again and after a year my eyes are still very tight feeling and I’m having trouble getting glasses that I can see through. I would not recommend this surgery, the doctor was very rude and had no no time time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
