I had an upper spine lamenectomy. Virtually no side effects, just mild sore throat for a week and mild discomfort between shoulder blades radiating to upper arms but able to function normally almost right away. Only took three doses of pain meds. Anesthesia was also amazing. Definitely recommend.

I am at 6 months post-op for thoracic spinal compression requiring diseconomies and fusion T6-10. I was prepared for the worst and hoped for the best. I woke up from my long surgery easily and quietly without event. I had no real problems in the hospital. I progressed with Home Health PT and now am finishing the aquatic therapy the Dr. Ruth Stanton, IU Physical Medicine and Rehab has ordered. Dr. McCanna’s and I are both very pleased with my progress. I have pain everyday, but the horrific nerve pain is gone and I’m slowly getting back to my life. I have hopes that as my body continues to heal internally the structural and muscle pain will subside. I am forever grateful to Dr. McCanna and his surgical expertise in this very difficult surgery and to the Goodman Campbell Spine Club for their collaboration at the beginning. I’m also grateful to Ashley for all she did to help me thru the crazy-making #10 pain parts. She talked me they some pretty terrifying times. I’m looking forward to planting my kitchen herb garden and maybe long walks walk this summer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sheila Kavanaugh

My experience in the past with neck/back surgeons is their lack of acknowledgment as well as understanding of my muscular disorder . This was until I met Dr. McCanna this week. I found him to be very patient and understanding and acknowledged that my fibromyalgia was a big cause of my neck pain. We are going to try options other than surgery to see if we can get the nerve damage calmed down. He spent over 40 minutes discussing my results and options.
