I made the mistake of trusting Dr. DeLee when my thyroid became overactive early last year. Although I had never received a formal diagnosis of hyperthyroidism and didn't know if my condition was temporary or not, Dr. DeLee ignored my concerns and prescribed methimazole (an anti-thyroid medication) without giving me any instructions or advice. When I returned to his office for a different problem and discussed the medication with him, the only suggestion that he gave me was, "If it's working, I'd keep taking it." Seriously? Since he failed to monitor my TSH levels as he should have done, I developed subclinical hypothyroidism from using the methimazole without proper supervision and for a much longer period of time than was necessary to resolve my initial symptoms. Now after 15 months of suffering, I'm having to take synthetic thyroid hormone every day just to get my life back on track—all because Dr. DeLee never ordered a routine blood test to see how the medication was affecting me.

In May of 2020, I visited Dr. DeLee because I was suffering from an overactive thyroid. Although I explained that my symptoms were likely the result of a muscle relaxant and/or iodine supplement that I had taken recently, Dr. DeLee never considered my suggestion or made any attempt to uncover the true cause of my illness. Instead of helping me find a quality solution, he prescribed three different medications without giving me any guidance or following up with me to recheck my hormone levels. Several months later, I experienced new physical symptoms that still haven't gone away despite quitting the meds almost a year ago. Now I'll need to find a competent specialist who can properly diagnose my problem and provide the treatment that I should have received in the first place.Update: After receiving my new lab results last week, I found out that I developed subclinical hypothyroidism from the methimazole that Dr. DeLee prescribed for me. If he had monitored my TSH levels instead of just assuming that the medication was working properly, I would've known to discontinue the methimazole before it severely affected my health.

Dr DeLee walked in the room with a diagnosis. I explained the hip pain I was having and he prescribed prednisone without ever laying a hand on me to isolate the exact location of the pain. It was like a face to face, virtual appointment. Seemed like he was rushing through to get to his next appointment.

I'm a man in my 50's with no significant health problems. I see Dr. Delee for annual physicals. He is quick and efficient, friendly and casual. When I have asked a question or raised a concern, he immediately becomes serious and focuses on what I'm saying. Nice balance between not wasting time and being ready to take action if something comes up. Offers reasonable no-nonsense advice.

My boyfriend got referred to Dr. DeLee by his discharged case manager at the main hospital. We had asked for a non judgmental doctor due to his past history. Yes, my boyfriend was having major anxiety during his appointment and probably seem like he was just rambling on. DeLee didn’t try to sympathize with him at all but I could instantly feel the judgment. He was in the room for about 2 mins and left. We went to another appointment and the nurse asked how the appointment went? We didn’t say much but she said that in the notes “he had referred him to psychiatric and pain management”. In which he never mentioned in the appointment or gave a referral. I know my boyfriend gets judged all the time due to his condition but it’s something he can’t control and having professional people that are there to supposedly help just make things worst. I just wish he would have been straight forward and said “hey, I am not the doctor for you”.

So seemed like a good person but really didn't do anything. I can in with concerns and then he asks me "what you want to do?". Who's the doctor? I followed up after appointment to go to a specialist and I got a message that specialist won't help me. The lady who delivered the message didn't tell me nothing else. I'm like "what does he suggest then?". She responds "oh, let me check" really? Why would the doctor say who wouldn't help but not tell me who would. It's pure nonsense. Do not recommend.
