They seem to have a lot of falls with elderly patients. My grandmother broke her hip here and they didn’t know for 2 weeks because they didn’t check!!! She was in pain for 2 weeks and they did not take her serious because she had dementia. So my poor grandma laid their for 2 weeks with a broken hip in severe pain!!!! Watch where you send your loved ones!

Brightwell does a really great job helping seniors who need medicine adjustments and help with navigating mental health. Very clean center, polite and caring staff, and very successful with what they do to help patients and families.

My husband was admitted here and he spent 9 days before being taken to the hospital for chest pains. During his stay a doctor spoke to me only once and a case worker once! I was unable to get through to speak to anyone. I finally called a hotline and got through! When I got to the hospital to see him I immediately told them he was to be released to go home not back to this facility! Medications were changed and I wasn’t informed at all about what was being done. He was a heart patient in congestive heart failure and this was not addressed ! 5 weeks after being admitted, he passed away at home due to severe congestive heart failure! Don’t take your loved one here!

Brightwell does a good job working with senior citizens.

This facility recently "treated" a family member. He was given medications that take weeks to get into a patient's system in order to evaluate effectiveness and dosage and they kept him for mere days. They then shipped him off to his regular facility, where he continued to exhibit the issues that got him sent to Brightwell in the first place. Even though was is within the 72 hour readmission window, they are now refusing to see him again. Because he is cured? Or because they don't want to deal with him? The family feels the answer is quite clear. Beware. They aren't fixing anyone's problems here.

Excellence in inpatient senior psychiatric care and a great place to work.

Geriatric psychology is desperately needed and Brightwell's concept shows promise. However, Brightwell falls short of expectations. They were our last and best hope and instead we lost precious time with our loved one and the conditions worsened rather than improved. Family requests and detailed medical and pharmacological history notes were ignored. Meds were changed without notice or family consultation and one prescription in particular was given against my specific instructions. A request for the weekend medical leadership to call was ignored and the medicine continued. Signs of a UTI that I could predict from phone conversations were dismissed. My loved ones conditions worsened to the point that she had to be admitted to the hospital for chest pains which were revealed to be due to anxiety. Brightwell told the hospital, not the family, that she would not be readmitted as had been "successfully treated." The admissions team and select nurses were bright spots, but a more typical example is on day 4 when her assigned nurse admitted he didn't know why she was admitted, if she had eaten that day, or the treatment plan. Instead of answering our questions he really needed to just complete his paperwork for the end of his shift.Perhaps their services are better for severe psychological needs and not depression related to aging. A month later we are reminded of the lack of empathy and broken promises by receiving a bill that shows they never submitted to her secondary insurance.
