M.A.G.A friendly!
DR Winikates is okay, but when you call to get a refill or schedule anything, his assistant won't answer the phone or return your call until you call at least 3 times or call main office and explain to them what is going on.
Dr Winacates is so good with my husband, he has gone way and above for us. Love you Dr Winacates from the Todd’s.
There aren't very many neurologists in town, and so I would recommend this doctor only if someone was unwilling to go to the Indianapolis area. I waited two months to see him, and an hour in the exam room. He was dismissive, aloof and did not show empathy. I won't be back. I really like his staff, so it's a shame.
After waiting for TWO months to see this doctor, (I have sleep apnea and he and one colleague are the only two sleep specialists in town, and see sleep patients only on certain days of the week,) I waited almost an hour in the exam room for him to come in. He was, as others have noted, dismissive, aloof and distant. It's been quite a long time since I have seen a doctor with this kind of demeanor. I will not be back. It's a shame, too, because I find the staff in this office to be some of the very best I've ever encountered.
Excellent Doctor, very happy and would recommend him to everyone who needs a doctor that listens and explains the issues you are dealing with.
Ive had cluster headaches ever since returning from Desert Storm. The VA has never helped me. Atleast he has been trying different meds to help and hasn't given up on me. All I can say is hes a great Dr.
I have Restless Legs Syndrome, Dr. Winikates , is the only doctor that I have found that knows anything about this horrible affliction. He takes the time to explain everything form of treatment that he wants to try. I say wants to try because RLS is different in everyone who has it. I travel from Camby and have traveled from Bedford for appointments because at least he knows about RLS. He is a good doctor and is caring.
I found Dr. Winnikates to be a really frustrating individual to deal with. There was no empathy shown and in fact it was if he couldn't be less interested in the patient's well being. His diagnosis included about a half dozen "possibilities" that ranged from a prognosis of 2yrs or less to something that wasn't life threatening and stated that "I would find out eventually which it was. Duh!!?? I knew that much before going to see him and I am not a doctor. He promised to provided some feedback to me if I brought in some information, which I did. Followed up multiple times. His assistant reminded him several times...never got feedback. When I asked for a referral to a more specialized doctor who could give me a more definitive diagnosis, he acted put out, but did end up giving me the name of an excellent doctor. I ended up changing to another doctor. He obviously didn't care much whether he had me as a patient, which convinced me that I no longer cared to have him as a doctor.
He was a good dr. but he never would look you in the eye...he always looked above your head, and then when the medicine I was taking caused kidney stones...it was like he was frustrated with me...that we had to start the process all over again, or something...definitely needs a better attitude...and more compassion for his patients...would be nice, at least

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
