No continuity of care between shifts. Please do not consider Cross Pointe an option if you have any physical ailments. They do not have the equipment necessary for several physical problems. AED machines are often located away from the units, which makes them difficult to access when needed. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, you will often have to await orders from a practitioner to send you to the ER, regardless of condition. I highly suggest to find another facility to assist you in detoxing, since it can become dangerous for some patients. Unfortunately, the only access you have to a therapist (or anything close to one) will be the few minutes a day you meet with your practitioner, either a Nurse Practitioner or an MD. The most you will see them will be thirty minutes or so. You will also have a group session with activity therapists, which are one to two hours a day. You have access to nurses, assuming you are assigned a nurse who cares enough to speak with you in a timely manner or is not too busy to speak with you because of their workload. There are techs on the unit, however they are unable to make any decisions concerning your care. I have seen techs attempt to alert nurses about a patient only for them to be dismissed. This is not to say they are all bad. A good portion of staff really care about patients and are passionate about their their work, or, rather, were, before they left due to the lack of communication between staff and management, the abuse of employees, the lack of empathy from management, the dismissal of patient concerns and the environment the newest round of management has created. And please never send a child here. Often they will shove patients in, and fill up a unit that doesn't even have enough chairs for the amount of patients. Children are also often admitted for behavioral reasoning, which has resulted in several patients being arrested from this unit. A truly traumatic experience for other children on the unit. It is not what I would consider a safe environment.
just got out and it was AWFUL! the only person that was nice to me was a girl named baily. they make you feel isolated and high strung all the time. YOU GET LITTLE TO NO SLEEP! but other than that i had very decent treatment
Very compassionate and helpful staff. I'd recommend them to anyone. Especially Monica, Koy, and Miss lynn. Wonderful people
Had to rate 3 stars because the interviewer doing my evaluation was rude as hell and demanded an answer in that EXACT moment, as if she was tired of me wasting her time (I'm autistic and my processing is very low). Other than that my treatment was mostly average, with a few tests and a lot of waiting. Room was very pretty with bright green walls to keep me calm as my anxiety spiked. Bryce K, the security guard assigned to me, was extremely kind and chatted with me when there was nobody else to talk to. Thank you so much!
I give no stars at all. I am a type one diabetic and was treated very poorly with sub standard care. I was made to wait more than 8 hours before getting a blood sugar check. I wasn't given my long acting insulin until after two days there because I made such a fuss. Nurses were rude and hospital looked like something out of the 1970's. Beds were uncomfortable and the shower was so small. I am disabled and require assistance with getting in and out of the shower and they denied me. Groups were a joke and a schedule was not followed. Food was horrible and only had one diabetic option for food and that was sugar free jello.
I will not even give this place 1 star. But to be able to post this review I have to place at least one star. Just know that it is not deserved. We had dealings with this hospital just this week. There is a therapist there named Courtney, who obviously recieved her license from cracker jack box USA. Because we were concerned about my family member seeing her brother before he went off to college, we were told "your behavior was inappropriate, so we thought it would be best if the patient not see her brother". This place isn't no where near what it should be for the mentally ill. Do NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!
Exceptionally passionate dedicated staff ! Deaconess Cross Pointe is a blessing to have in the tri-state area. No one is turned away because of race, gender, sexual orientation or social status. The community is lucky to have this facility!!
I was at Deaconess Cross Point unnecessarily for over 90 days. They keep patients way too long and bilk taxpayers with the charges. They are nothing more than a torture chamber with a pharmacy. I witnessed others being restrained without cause. Sometimes patients are strapped to a board for hours and the straps are too tight. Pleas to loosen the straps go unheeded leaving the patient in pain for hours. Avoid going to Deaconess Cross Pointe if you can. As I said, they are nothing more than a torture chamber with a pharmacy
Absolutely horrible staff. My doctor has diagnosed me with acute stress reaction and thought I may benefit from an evaluation so her office called to let them know I was coming in. I got there, filled out paperwork and was told I'd be seen soon. I waited for 2 hours and every time I asked for a rough estimate of how much longer it would be I was given a very rude response. Then they finally tell me they don't understand why I am even there and since I wasn't talking about self harm they wouldn't evaluate me even though my doctor wanted the evaluation. The girl was very rude and just shrugged her shoulder when I asked them why they let me waste 2 hours. It felt like the staff had no clue what they were doing or what was going on. Horrible staff and horrible experience. They should be ashamed of themselves, I have been through a very traumatic experience and was just looking for help.
Worst experience ever. I suffer from anxiety but they treated me for depression. Had a nervous breakdown while in there. Locked down like you're in prison. Kept changing my meds and increasing doses like crazy. Lucky to get out of there alive a human guinea pig.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
