Deaconess Midtown Hospital's Online Review Report Card

Went there a few days ago after I fell off my horse and folded like a lawn chair. Diagnosed with bruised ribs, said nothing about my shoulder that they took xrays on (so no clue what is wrong there.), and told me to take Tylenol. Tylenol has not touched the pain.

Worse staff in Evansville, I don't underage why half these nurses or doctors have jobs with the attitudes they give off to everyone

DO NOT TRUST DEACONESS MIDTOWN!! They missed so much my husband could have been paralyzed!! We was here for almost 2 weeks in the ortho trauma unit after my husband was badly injured in a coal mining accident and it was the worst hospital experience of my life!! Terrible service! Awful rude nurses who yelled "shut up" to the confused dementia patient next door! Thank God we got out of there when we did and got him to a better hospital! I would recommend you DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY BE SENT HERE!!

I’ve been here a few times and every time there’s always attitude with the staff they don’t take you serious they are rude. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think I needed to.

I was at Midtown for a procedure an Dr. Prasongchai (Dr. Chai) was EXCELLENT! He took time beforehand explaining in depth WHY I needed the operation, what risks there were. How long, etc. Every encounter (every one!) with nursing staff was positive. They were ALL (maybe I was just lucky) extremely kind, helpful, great bedside manner, and even funny. A special thanks to Vivian Dr Chai's nurse who is always helpful and kind and answers ANY question and returns calls no matter HOW busy she is.... She is a very wonderful lady! Thank you!

SHAWN MCCOY, you're staff and facilitie for downtown needs better staff and right diagnosis. Not only am I disappointed but disgusted in the fact that you can send people back home from having TB and getting others sick not only doesn't look good but breaks the CbC guildlines. As a formerly employer. I'm glade that I left as I did and if I was there and this was my family that happened to I would of reported this. Fixed this and make it right

Daughter was in ICU...Then transferred down..She stunk and couldn't get anyone to help get clean ( 3days ) miserable 😑...NOT HAPPY

My daughter was in a terrible car accident in mt vernon il .. ambulance took her to crossroad that hospital said life fighting her to deaconess midtown because it's a trauma hospital well normally they are sent to stl mo ...so I asked met wit no answers simply that's where we are sending her I drive the hour 45 min drive to find my daughter In a room alone in a neck brace in a pile of blankets ( mind you no catscans have been read nothing ...for a hr I begged someone please tell me anything about my daughter I was told a nurse would be in hr later a nurse does show up says I'm ur day nurse ok can you tell me what's goin on ..um no I jus got here but can look so she was flown over at 4 am n by 730 am no scans been read or done but said we did blood work n nothing else this hole time even though my daughter was ejected from a vehicle goin over the spend limit of 55 .. still never see a doc told anything just we are admitting her n she'll be moved upstairs to 4th floor still in neck brace spine not clear .. got her in her room nurse looks all is clear but fractures in her face finally a ent doc comes in was very nice no surgery required but up to trauma team if she can leave .. nurse says the trauma doc will be in anytyme 24 hrs later still ain't seen a doc other than the ent an can't be discharged till trauma doc says ..Noone came in her room at all from 3 ro 8 pm...but finally got a great nurse Christina who was super helpful but can't run the doctors . This place from er to rooms bathrooms nurses cnas horrrible...I got my daughter up n down for restroom i had to turn her alarm off her ive pump every tyme she bent her arm..nurse told me too so she didn't have to keep coming an doin it instead of fixing the iv ..the night nurse did jus that fixed iv n got her a medicine that helped the migrane ...but here we still sit 24hrs later waiting to b released by the trauma doctor that said no injuries besides fractures in her face n banged up . So the excuse became gonna keep her over inght for pain management.even tho she has denied the pain meds wanted ibuprofenn was told no by nurse it wasnt ordered oxycodone an dilatais what u can have ...what ???....again doc didn't tell me that or nurse she said I think but hell b in. .actually 25hrs since our arrival not by choice to this hospital and have not seen a trauma doctor once ...tryed get my daughter ice went to nurse station she said I'm busy with something important tell her hit her call light that had already been hit 30 mins prior...so go up there again wait for her get off phone she stands up n goes ro walk away said excuse me can I get some ice she said tell her hit her call light n walked away ...anyway horrible hateful staff dirty rooms no docs no helping her up no nothing besides need ur vitals.. This place deserves negative 10 stars n closed down!!!

The staff I found to be phenomenal. As good a hospital staff from top to bottom as Ive come across.... HOWEVER, the facility is crapeola. The place was filthy. Thats just putting it succinctly withhout giving details. Not blaming the staff, there needs to be MORE staff. Here's a novel thought; how about these entitled board members and CEOs take a pay cut and hire some more cleaning staff??? The parking is aweful and there is a good chance you'll end up in their parking garage which is a long walk to the main entrance. Why no transit crew? Even in small hospitals, where the walk isn't that far, a small transit bus or cart is available. Not here though. So it was a mixed bag for me. The clerical and medical staff made it a positive experience, in spite of all the other things.
