Reluctant to go here because of the reviews,I must say I had the most pleasant experience. From making the appointment to entering it was most pleasant. Secretary was pleasant. The doctor was very thorough and concerned. I didn't wait no more than normal. Eyeglass department was informative. A 10 in my book. I will be returning.

Dr was very dismissive of my concerns about my eye problems. When he walked into the exam room he assumed I was there for glasses. He didn't even bother to read my chart before coming in. That was a huge red flag. When I told him how my extremely itchy red eyes had been bothering me for years, he waved it off as basic allergies and prescribed naphcon. I tried to tell him that it was more than just allergies, but he wouldn't listen. For him, itch = allergies. Always.Long story short, I ended up seeing Dr Wang in Schererville and found out I had AKC. Now my eyes are better than they've been in years.

Dr. Watkins is one the best eye doctors I’ve seen. He genuinely cares for his patients.

I had an appointment today 7/17/2019, and the front desk lady, Barbara Gee, was very very rude. I have anthem medicaid and she tried to tell me that her computer was showing i also had Aetna. I tried to explain to her that I DID NOT! After numerous phone calls to get the issue resolved and actually calling Aetna and them telling Barbara that I did not have it, she still continued arguing with me. Aetna even told her that the office needs to update their software because Aetna was not seeing it at their end. I have been on medicaid for 3 yrs. Have had major surgery, visit my doctor once a month, have had CT scans, MRI's ect and not one of them showed Aetna as my insurance. So instead of her listening to the agent from Aetna, she just ignored both of us. How rude of her. I will NEVER go there again and will never refer this office to ANYONE!!

We will never be back! Staff is very rude, they charge up front knowing the insurance will pay most then are hesitant to produce the refund. Very shady! I work for a doctor and we strive in providing a very pleasant atmosphere. We greet our patients, smile and make eye contact, and certainly don't charge for services unless we are 100% sure the patient will be responsible. Sad, because I actually liked the doctor.
