Dr. Schmeltz is a very good Doctor has helped me with my health but the staff lacks in so many ways they do not follow through with what the patients needs plus always put on hold for at least 15 minutes or longer.

Dr. Schmeltz has been conscientious protecting my health and guiding me through the right decisions. He is capable of doing in office procedures that other doctors would not consider. He is expert in emergency medicine and first aid and has a vast knowledge of general medicine and medical procedures. I am very fortunate to be his patient.

I'm in my early 50's and have hip and lower back pain and went to dr.mark smeltz for relief.this is what I got, 2 month perscription of tramadol which helped completely and when I went for a refill I was referred out to South Bend Orthopaedics, a Dr. Clemency who is the biggest quack I've ever met.Dr.Smeltz will not refill my perscription even tho I have jumped through all the hoops of being referred out and was told by Dr.Clemency of SBO that my primary care doctor (i.e.Dr.Smeltz) would have to renew my tramadol perscription but that he would perscribe celebrex and only celebrex, even after I told him that celebrex upsets my stomach. So if you are looking for a doctor that cares about your pain, Dr.Smeltz is NOT THAT DOCTOR. You are just a number to him......I know about the laws about tramadol and pain pills and I was never trying to break any laws or feed an addition, just get out of pain.

Dr schmeltz is very patient...listens and goes above and beyond. Makes a person with lots of anxiety be able to feel calm during the appt. Office environment is soothing. Receptionist and nurses have been very sweet and love the smiles in the office.

My father was in admitted to a hospital that doctor Schmeltz was not affiliated with due to an emergency situation and the doctor was notified. His staff actually took the time to call the family and find out how he was doing and if everything was being taken care of. That is going beyond their call of duty and was greatly appreciated by our family !!

Dr. Schmeltz is very good at what he does. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and does everything in his power to fix any problems. He is absolutely wonderful with children and takes the time to get to know them.
