Awesome facility and staff! Dr Monesmith was friendly and thorough. He noticed something on my radiographs unrelated to my injury and ordered additional testing to check it out. I appreciate him going above and beyond to make sure everything is ok! Everyone I encountered was kind and helpful!

I went in for visit due to a recommendation from my physical therapist that my injuries from my wreck the previous November were not ready for therapy yet. The staff was very nice but the Doctor Eric Monesmith, was a different story. My x-rays showed no injuries so even from entering the room he was dismissive. He asked about my pain but wouldn’t let me tell him about what I have been experiencing. He kept interrupting when I tried to answer his questions and tell him about my pain. He out right walked out of the room at one point when I was trying to share with him something. He asked me if I had tried physical therapy and I told him I had been assessed and was determined to not be ready for it yet. He scoffed when I told him the findings of the assessment and told me I needed to find a new physical therapist. I told him it was that very physical therapist that had recommended that I come and use his expertise over my situation. He looked at me briefly and determined that my issues were not something he dealt with since they were not bones. He recommended another doctor. He then proceeded to hand me a sheet that went over anti-inflammatories. Even though I had told him that I was walking 3 miles a day previous to my wreck and that due to pain and another surgery I’ve been down for a year, he made several points to show me the nutritional part of the sheet that talked about obesity and suggest that I read up on it. In case it has to be said, one should probably not tell a woman who has spent the last year trying to get her mobility back as well as heal from an abdominal hysterectomy that she has put on weight! Because she knows. Especially when she was very active prior and told you on her entry forms that all of this has given her anxiety and depression. Perhaps pointing out her weight gain was not the best bedside practice. But had he listened instead of engaging her husband, he would have known that.

Love OrthoIndy and Dr. Monesmith! They have an excellent staff, always friendly and make you feel at ease. My husband has had both knees replaced and I just had my right knee replaced and neither of us had any problems. I will only go to Dr. Monesmith for any further hip or knee issues. He's the best.

Every step I took was painful. Not anymore!!! My hip was shot. Dr. Monesmith put me a new one in and I am very happy with his work!! Had me walking 3hrs after surgery. I got better every day afterwards. I’m 90 days post surgery in the past seven days I have hiked 12 miles with over 1000 ft of climbing and have ridden 50+ miles on my bicycle. My advice. If you need a new hip. Get it. Do not delay. You will not regret it💪🏼💪🏼😎

Dr. Monesmith was clear and concise with what I need to do in order to have a successful surgery. I immediately bought into his advice and look forward to working with him within the next few months.

I can not thank enough Dr, E ,Monesmith, his surgical team, pre and post op team, and all the ancillary workers at the South OrthoIndy Hospital for the excellence of care I received for my total knee replacement. Thank you again Dr Monesmith for giving my life back.

I have just had my second knee replacement done by Dr Monesmith. The first one had a great outcome and the second one is progressing even better than the first. Being able to have my surgery done at the Southside location was a nice change. I would highly recommend Dr Monesmith for knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Monesmith was friendly, caring, and provided great information in terms that were easy to understand. His suggestions for treatment made a lot of sense.
