I have gone to him for over a year now and have had mostly good experiences. I feel that maybe the "condescending" comments in the other reviews are, in part, due to his habit of closing his eyes and leaning back when he's thinking (I originally read that body language as arrogance). He's been very careful to not overprescribe, and has been flexible when I expressed that I wanted to try a different route than he did (he ended up being right, too). I was definitely frustrated with the pace of my treatment, but I don't think I can point to him as the reason for the rate. I also have noticed he's often running 10+ minutes behind, but I've also been the last appointment of his day and he's given me 55 minutes for a 30 minute appointment just to continue the conversation. He's not perfect, but my experiences don't match the 2 older reviews. Whatever you decide: thanks for reading and good luck with your search.
Really nice doctor
I've been struggling with an addiction to alcohol for years. Without Dr. Whiteman, I'm fairly certain I wouldn't be alive.
This is without a doubt the worst Doctor I have ever have been a patient of. Rude, condescending, adversarial, and extremely disrespectful. If you PCP refers you to this person I would strongly advise you request another referral.
Horrible Doctor. No Compassion for patients. Rude, disrespectful, condescending, and very adversarial. I can't believe that a person with this complete lack of social skills is practicing medicine with psychiatric patients. A complete unprofessional clown show.
This guy is a really awful Doctor. I have never dealt with a more adversarial, disrespectful, and false accusatory doctor. This guy is completely up his own posterior (language police)...Extreme God complex... Late by 30 minutes...Avoid this guy he does not care for his patients at all.
This "Doctor" is just plain awful. Adversarial, Condescending, and extremely rude. I misunderstood the medication RX and wasn't taking enough each day and this Garbage dump of a human being verbally berated me for about 10 minutes over this. Accuses me of being addicted to a med that I was undertaking. Doesn't care about what patient has to say and acts in a manner that implies that you being there is an inconviene for him. Avoid this Doc if you can he doesn't care about his patients...
Not interested in what I had to say and had the nerve to cut me off saying we already were off to a late start, I was there on time . Definitely would not recommend.
Dr. Whiteman will treat you as an inferior creature that just happened to come into his office begging for help. He knows he's better than you and isn't afraid to make sure you know it as well. He's a one trick pony, in that if it can't be solved with pills, then it can't be solved. He's only in it for the money, not helping people. Seek a second opinion. You will stand at the window of an empty room for 15 minutes when you go in for your appointment. He's not interested in your emergencies.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
