Aba Therapy, The Natural Way- The Hope Source's Online Review Report Card

I have to comment.... this afternoon I received a phone call from a contact experiencing a flat tire in this facilities parking lot. This individual was transporting an 85+ year old person with dementia who uses an walker to get around to a medical appointment when the tire went flat and they rolled into the facilities lot. I have never been more disappointed in the human services profession than I was today. Not one person who approached the car asked if they could help, or if the elderly individual in the car was in any distress due to the heat. They wanted the car to moved so it would not interfere with the line up for the end of their day. When the driver suggested they move the car slowly to another spot in the parking lot they were told no. The tow truck arrived within 20 minutes of the call and no interruption of their services occurred. I arrived a quickly as I could from 20 miles away to load the elderly individual into my car to get her out of the heat. The treatment received by the staff was deplorable. You would think that facility staff who worked with folks needing ABA therapy would know how to be flexible to interruption and changes in routine. More importantly, how to treat people with the same kind of kindness they would like to be treated.

I am so happy and thankful that my son is able to go to The Hope Source/Dynamic Minds Academy. It makes me so happy to know that he is in such great therapeutic and educational hands and is handled with gentle approaches! To know that everyone from his therapists, to teachers to the school nurse is specially equipped for his needs makes my heart feel so good. I don't have to worry about bullying, his safety, the quality of his curriculum, him getting lost in large classroom sizes, etc.. This is a dream come true for our child. He is so, so happy and excited about school and I couldn't ask for a better exposure to his learning environment. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

I scheduled for consultation because the website said they served young adults (up to 30). I asked about diagnostics and was questioned about why I even wanted testing. Rather than providing information, they wanted to know exactly my purpose and what I was trying to get out of it. Disability or social security were the only options as to why an adult could want a diagnosis. I told them I wanted to have an official diagnosis to supply to employers and my therapist for more realistic treatment and care. This didn't seem like a viable answer to the person on the other end of the phone. They said most people are diagnosed as children so I likely don't need testing (what does that even mean?) I really did not like how the operater handled my inquiry, so I'm going to look somewhere else. That was uncomfortable and embarrassing.

my son and I took a tour there today! I am looking forward to his enrollment and he is very excited too! it is perfect and exactly what my 12 year old needs!!

We pulled our children out due to peer bullying that caused severe emotional distress with my child. Staff turnover is extremely high, which causes kids to go thru many guides. One month, my son had three separate We had to constantly fight to get any records of our children. To this day, I have not recieved everything because not everything is kept electronically and nothing is organized. And the final thing? I was told, by the owner, they do individualized learning plans. My son was in advanced placement classes in public schools. He was thrown into grade level and was used to "help" other students.

My son is happy and is learning finally! He gained a whole academic year within his first semester. Yes, it is hard transportation wise, but it is SO worth it!
