Dr. Tankston is a warm and rare physician. I am a recent resident in The Villages and have had numerous negative experiences with physicians treating the welderly. I’m 71 and hope to continue playing softball, bowling, golf, and riding my Indian Scout. Dr. Tankston took the time and listened. He was incredibly patient. I canceled the first scheduled surgery. The morning of my surgery to address correction of toes damaged by chemo neuropathy, I asked him to re-evaluate how to proceed. He took the time, heard my concerns and made a decision I could trust would allow me to continue pitching, bowling and riding with the Nomads. He also took a moment to share some personal professional moments concerning his education. I’m a retired teacher and always interested in how “kids” decide on a profession.

Dr Tankson repaired my broken leg...plates, pins, etc. his follow up was excellent and he had me obeying the rules for recovery. Therapy at his facility was excellent. Full use restored..and I was 72 at the time.

Beware! Dr. Tankson destroyed my foot and I would never refer him to anyone.

can't reach him when you need him, appointments are constantly cancelled and when you get in you only see him for a couple minutes, doesn't actually listen to what you have to say or care about what is going on

It's so sad when a surgeon's office doesn't answer their phones. This doctor has already closed one office in Lady Lake, and now has one office in Leesburg. Sadly, if his office staff doesn't answer the phones, how are potential or existing patients or referring doctors' offices can't reach anyone at his office to arrange appointments? His past patients can't reach him to have him help them again. I'm not sure how this man can stay in business with this terrible work ethic. He also had quite a reputation at the Leesburg and The Villages hospital for being hours late for surgeries with no excuse and no apologies. They say Dr. Tankston has quite a god complex. So sad. The central Florida medical community who is making boatloads of money off retired folks who have relocated to The Villages and other retirement communities is abysmal at best. Dr. Tankston is adding to that horrible reputation. Well done, doc!

never available, waited 6 weeks to get a post op appointment, front office staff was not pleasant and incompetent. Blew off my questions and concerns.

He might be a good surgeon but is follow-ups need improving. My brother has been in rehab. for six weeks waiting to hear from him once about her progress. He has been given regular feedback from her therapeutic departments and he has not taken five minutes to call and give her discharge orders.

Dr. T surgically repaired, then reconstructed my left ankle. Excellent to work with, great communication - not only with me, but my PCP, as well. went all out for my complete recovery.

He performed carpal tunnel surgery which was successful. However, his office staff is totally unresponsive. They cannot be reached directly by phone, do not answer emails or patient portal requests. I had to drive to his office to get an appointment to have the stitches removed - this should have been scheduled when the surgery was scheduled. A nurse removed the stitches and then he came in to examine it. He spent about 30 seconds with me. There was no mention about the need for physical therapy

Saw the doctor for literally about 3 minutes. I was told the bursitis would heal on its own and he sent me on my way without so much as palpating the affected area, which ended up getting worse instead of better.
