Chad R Kauffman's Online Review Report Card

I didn't like the level of concern, Dr Kaufman was rude and unprofessional. I was made to feel very uncomfortable there. I would try to explain what I was experiencing and was not being heard. It was all about the money I believe, I was embarrassed by staff when asked about my billing in front of the entire office, and was told I need to pay before I could be seen on my visit.

Was not happy today with my visit. I went in today to get my glasses fixed because the prescription is wrong after I had to pay my copay and the amount of money I spent on these glasses. I owe a small balance (70.00) from the end of last year which is in conjunction with getting my glasses. I took the day off from work which also cost me losing money. They put me in a eye exam room then minutes later they are telling me unless i pay something on that balance they can not help me even though I've paid for these glasses which are wrong and want me to pay on a past balance first even though, I've lost money on this and they don't feel this is their problem apparently until I pay something on that balance. I don't feel that I should until they finish this job they want their 70.00 but what about the roughly 200.00 I paid for the wrong perception, Is this my fault??? All I did was answer their question "yes I can see what's on line 4 and then read it back to them" so obviously this is not my fault on the wrong prescription when all I did was answer their questions, But to refuse fixing my glasses that they got wrong until I pay that balance for the same thing. So I just left not giving them anything until I'm satisfied with my glasses first. It would of been nice to know that they were going to do this before I took another day off from work again

Very friendly. The Dr. Explained everything to me. I will keep him a my eye Dr. The women at the eye glass was super friendly did a fast but thorough job.

I went to this practice a few times because my insurance listed it as one of the providers that took my insurance. Unfortunately at that time I didn't have anybody closer to me so I had to drive a pretty good distance to get to this practice. The atmosphere in the office is a bit cold and impersonal. The eye exam portion was efficient and complete enough.  I was told that I have a specific eye issue that I was unaware of previously.  I was given a very bare bones explanation.  I went on the Internet to research it and I was pretty surprised that it was considered a fairly serious situation. I'm not sure why it was downplayed or not explained to me more. I did try to ask a few questions based on the minimal information that I got at that time, but I still left feeling mostly confused and uninformed. I feel that some doctors need to work on their bedside manner and need to have a little bit more 'patience with their patients'.  Being shuffled in and shuffled out doesn't work very well for me.  I like to feel like I matter and that my medical needs are being met. I have since found another eye doctor so I probably will not be returning to this practice.

Dr Kauffman is very thorough and rains well. I think the front office should use different approach other than last name please. At least say hello may I help you. Other than that office is good. Needs a little updating

Back in December 2019 I had a sudden vision problem in one eye. As normal it was the start of a weekend. Doctor took me on short notice and found a detached retina. He got me referred to a specialist and the condition was quickly repaired. Without this I could have lost my precious sight.

I go to Dr. Kauffman for my yearly diabetic eye checks and he has also taken care of me for eye injuries. He always does a great job and his office staff is amazing.

Trust Dr. Kauffman completely. Explains things to me and is patient with my questions. Very important to me since I have type 2 diabetes and want to protect my eyesight.

Very professional, thorough and freindly. I started seeing Dr. Kauffman while he was at Community Hospital East, then followed him to his practice on Shadeland. Very satisfied with vision care, complete explantions of my conditions and cataract surgery. Staff is excellant as well.
