I really like Dr. Mattson. My condition is a COVID disaster and it’s very difficult diagnosing me but I think I will get the answers I need with such a smart intelligent physician on my side!
Dr Mattson is the best Neurologist I have dealt with. Takes time during the appointment and asks lots of questions. Very responsive to messages. Goes above and beyond to compile physical reports required for my employment. Cons - To reach the office via phone requires talking to the IU call center (no direct number to Neurology) and they are generally very rude, incompetent, and uninformed on how their systems work. The front desk at the office is better but not great. Short tempered, distracted, occasionally rude. Paying for parking is irritating. The staff didn't notify me when the parking garage was under construction and there were no signs on where to park or where to enter. And, guess what, no direct number to the office so I couldn't call and ask. Thankfully they allowed me to be late and didn't cancel my appointment. Getting an appointment within a month can be very difficult.
Dr Mattson is the best neurologist in the United States. I am very blessed to have him as my neurologist. The staff he has is amazing also. Such a blessing to everyone. Thank you Dr Mattson. Remember I’m your poster child (2001). You make me feel at ease every time I see you which is 1 time a year. It’s so nice to see that smile come Thru the door. Thank you Dr Mattson for being my doctor 😇🙏♥️
I think highly of Dr. Mattson.
Dr. Mattson provides excellent care for my MS. He's up to date on new research. He is always willing to listen and address any concerns I have. If I have questions for him, he is easily reached through my patient portal online and responds within a few days or less.
He only sees people who have MS.... That was what I was told.
I have been seeing Dr. Mattson since 1998. I have MS, he has always been professional and personal with my care. If I have an issue the staff always follows through to get a solution to my problem.
As an MS patient, I've had more than a few neurologists until I found one that fit and that's Dr. Mattson. He's one of the best in the state and is always willing to listen and help. If I have a relapse, Dr. Mattson and his staff deal with it quickly to give me relief. His staff is also phenomenal. The years of bad neurologists has finally paid off in finding a gem like Dr. Mattson and the great people who work for him. HIGHLY recommend.
Absolutely fantastic! He and his team are great. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about MS. His PA John is amazing and a very valuable asset to doctor Mattson's team.
Dr Mattson takes time to fully answer questions and is the best Doc I’ve ever had. Excellent bedside manner. I can’t imagine anyone better... MS is a horrible disease and I felt he really cares about the individual. I can’t say enough good about him..

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
