He was extremely kind and patience with my brother. He listened to everything both of us had to say and was very thorough. We've been looking for answers as to why my brother is losing his sight for a while now and Dr Mackay finally found them for us. He was very understanding and made sure we understood exactly what the issues were and how to help. I would recommend him to anyone.

This guy is super pompous even for a doctor. I tried telling him about his intern spilling dilation drops all over me, he said well we don't need the excruciating detail. First of all, there is no we. Secondly, I told him, the intern severely irritated me, so you do need detail. Maybe if he got off of his high horse and trained people correctly, I wouldn't have been frustrated in the first place. I'm giving him 3 stars because he seems to know his job and be good at that aspect of it. Don't expect him to treat you with the respect you deserve though.

Dr. Mackay was very kind and extremely thorough. He listened carefully to my explanation of my symptoms, asked several questions to get a deeper understanding of what was happening, then did a comprehensive exam to rule out all possibilities. I'd been waiting several months to get a neurological vision issue checked out after seeing my regular eye doctor to rule out an eye issue, and as he predicted, I had to have a brain MRI and some additional testing to rule out a brain tumor. Dr. Mackay's standard of care and bedside manner throughout the process were excellent, and I really appreciated his kindness. He was not at all abrupt or hurried as doctors often seem to be, and he and his staff made a stressful situation much easier.

Thorough and respectful, answered all my questions, and referred out when necessary.

My ophthalmologist could not determine the reason for blurriness in my left eye. I was referred to Dr. Mackay. He ran many tests to find the problem and fortunately sent me for a MRI. The MRI revealed I had a meningioma pressing on my optic nerve. He immediately referred me to an outstanding neurosurgeon who successfully removed the entire tumor which probably saved my vision. Dr. Mackay is an outstanding physician. I will always remember him and what he did for me.

I have damage to my vision from high intracranial pressure. I went to Dr MacKay, referred from my local eye doctor because of increased problems with my vision. More time was spent with my eyes being examined by the resident. Once they determined I had dry eyes, that was it. None of my other concerns were addressed.

Doctor MacKay was kind, informative, and summarized the findings well. His staff was very good at the tests they performed. I would highly recommend him to others who suffer vision loss from a stroke. Having to have a referral to visit him was a struggle, but finally his neurologist referred him. Once the referral was made, the scheduler called with an appointment that was within the week!
