I have been recently released from you guys and didnt get a chance to say goodbye to all the people who have been working on and with me for the last year and a half.I cant thank you guys enough for everything youve done for me. If I had to say this to you face to face I would literrally be in tears. You allespecially Matt H. have almost become like family to me over the last year. In a sick way Im going to miss you all. You gave me the only reason and excuse to get out of my stinking apt. Im thinking of making an appt. just to see you guys again. Despite that last sentence I hope I never have to see you again. Thank you all again. James Hake
Ive wrestled with this ratingreview probably more than I have any other of my Yelp reviews alternating between 34 stars several times and have rewritten this review on at least three occasions. Methodist Wound Clinic is part of IU Health and is located inside the Professional Center 2 building on the Methodist Campus in downtown Indy on the ground level. As would be expected the campus itself is pretty accessible despite mostly being the oldest section of the IU campus. The parking garages all offer an abundance of accessible parking though I have noticed that if you arrive around 9am most weekdays you may still struggle to find a spot. However for the most part the basics are here ADA compliant parking automatic doors and elevators to each floor. If you have difficulty walking its worth noting that the wound clinic is on the ground level and requires walkingwheeling down a pretty lengthy hallway to get to it. The wound clinic is part of Rehab Services which means youll primarily deal with doctorate level therapists most of whom are certified wound care specialists or in the process of certification. You might think that being physical therapy as it is billed would save you cash since doctors are not typically involved. You would be wrong. Wound care is a specialty and if any sort of debridements or wound cleanings are involved your bill for a simple clinic appointment jacks up considerably. The clinic shares space with OT audiology and other rehab services. I was referred for evaluation following a leg injury that took me to an IU Urgent Care. It was a valid call given obvious infection and significant swelling though it did seem that my initial evaluation had a bit of an overreaction. That said the initial evaluation which took a bit over an hour was thorough informative and generally looked at both swelling and a couple wounds that had developed as a result. My initial therapist Julie was super respectful of my sexual assault history as a victim thus made sure I would see a female therapist and was respectful in terms of touch. You could tell she was rather by the book but she was good at teaching and kept things understandable. I saw her for the first two appointments while switching to April for the last two appointments with 12 appointments likely to go. Most of the followup appointments have been 3045 minutes in length. They offer appointments from about 7am 4pm MondayFriday. Scheduling has mostly been positive I had requested 7am since that allowed minimal interruption to work. Ive mostly been scheduled at 8am though April in particular has been really good about getting me rescheduled at my requested time. April is a little more no nonsense less personal and helpful but it actually has worked well for me to go from Julie who helped me feel comfy and safe in the process to April who sort of pushes a bit harder and empowers. It has been an effective combo for me. On the basis of Julie and April Id likely go with a 4star rating. However Ive had a few things along the way that have really troubled me. For example its clear that theyre used to dealing with MedicareMedicaid and Ive had to remind the RNCase Manager multiple times that Im not on disability and dont have Medicare when certain things would be ordered or planned that my commercial insurance wouldnt cover. Ive also experienced some disability stereotyping for example Ive literally been asked Why arent you on disability? and Do you make too much for disability? These questions are condescending stereotypes that have no place in the equation. While theres certainly nothing wrong with being on disability it tells me theyre not treating me where Im at when Im a professional with a commercial insurance who lives independently and whose treatment plan should reflect these facts. Instead Ive struggled at times precisely because their plans tend to more tailor to those on disability rather than those who workare independent. They tend to see people twice weekly though they dont precertify appointments up front and the financial piece is handled out of a different office. Ive had to remind them that because I have a high deductible plan Im paying up front while theyve reluctantly agreed to serve me only weekly its troubling to me to have appointments scheduled with no clear indication that its coveredapproved. In short I guess the administrative piece of the clinic is troublesome to me while Ive greatly appreciated the actual clinicians. The difference for me between a 3 and 4 is often Will I return? The short answer is No. If I need wound care again Ill explore better options offering greater flexibility a more encouragingempowering atmosphere and something where I can more clearly understand the financial piece so that I dont spend much of my care distracted.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
