List of Marcus J. Magnussen's Reviews
I would highly recommend Dr. Magnussen. I appreciate the way he always takes time to really understand how I'm feeling. To talk through my treatment options. He's always knowledgeable on the latest medicines or drug trials. My insurance company has been more then difficult to work with and he has fought to prove my side EVERY TIME! When my husband comes with me, Dr. Magnussen always answers any questions my husband might have. He's so considerate, thoughtful and treats me like I'm a human being and not just one more patient. He remembers me and my history. I don't feel like he has to refresh his memory when he walks in the room. I wish all Dr's were more like him. He has the smarts and the bedside manner. I would trust him not only with medical matters that pertain to me, but I would trust him with the people I love most in the world.
I don't have a single negative thing to say about Dr. Magnussen. I have a weird situation that causes some overlap of treatment between a few doctors & Marcus is attentive to my situation. He does not rush his interactions with me. Remains patient with my questions & his subsequent answers. Any time I've had a prescription issue he or his support staff are on top of it. He's been nothing but compassionate with me & is consistently focused on what's best for me & my situation. Knowledge - 10. Attentiveness - 10. Bed side manner - 10.
He was not the caliber of Doctor I would have expected from JMW. Was irritated when he walked in the room. One point he dropped chart on desk and shoved it. I was not explaining myself very well. So I understand the frustration. However I just felt defeated as I left, no hope of getting better. If you want your hand held, definitely not the doctor for you.
I was very impressed with Dr. Magnussen. He was able to work me into his schedule quickly. He was very thorough in information gathering and I did not feel rushed during my appointment. He seemed dedicated to my cause. I feel I am in good hands with Dr. Magnussen. I would highly recommend him.
This guy is rude irrational and doesn't look out for his patients best interest. He tried to take me off of my anti- seizure medication, and place me on something else which done more harm, than good. But refused to give me what I needed to take for the seizures!! currently trying to find a good neurologist. I do not recommend this guy to see or treat anyone.
I was not impressed with Dr. Magnussen. Not friendly and took a long time to get an appointment because he kept cancelling. I was impressed, however, with his nurse practitioner, Emily. She explained everything and was a good listener and actually cared - unlike the doctor!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Magnussen for years now and he is probably one of the best doctors that I’ve ever had. He really takes the time to get to know you and your medical background. For him it’s not just about your neurological problems but everything about you. He takes a fair amount of time to figure out what’s best for you and he makes sure that you are comfortable with the course of action suggested in your care. I would highly recommend Dr. Magnussen.
Spent very little time with me. Took months to get an appointment. Was a few minutes late and zero people in the waiting room and he denied me my visit. Did not inform me I would be having an appointment with his NP instead of him. His NP was extremely rude. Made me do many painful tests which his office somehow lost or never got the results of. I do not recommend this doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
