Dr. Walker is a an amazing thorough Gastroenterologist. A few years ago I had serious stomach ulcers and through her discovery & subsequent care, they were cured. I now have other GI issues and I drive an hour and a half just to have her doctor me. I have the utmost confidence in her professional knowledge and thorough care. I understand the poor review which was posted on Google. However, the review should have been about IU Health's poor communication and administration system, not Dr Walker.

Dr Walker was pleasant & thorough. However, her office staff/ front desk staff are horrid. My husband had a colonoscopy/ upper endoscopy preformed & 5 biopsies taken. He was quite nervous as his father died from colon cancer at age 53. Dr Walker said results from lab would be 1-2 weeks. After 2 full weeks with no call he called her office in the morning, the girl who answered said she would send a message to the Dr's nurse/ assistant. That was a Wednesday. He heard nothing back, so he called again Friday morning, really nervous & knowing it was going to be a holiday weekend. The girl took another message but said the first one had not even been looked at. She said that the office may take 3 business days to reply to a message. Finally after not getting a call back by 4pm I called there. The girl told me, neither message was like at still. I explained how nervous he was, not sleeping well, ect.. she was unapologetic & so rude. I've worked in the medical field as a Dr assistant since 2001 & of I did not respond to a message in 3 days I would be let go. They refused to let him or I speak to a nurse, assistant or anyone besides front desk staff. As of today (Tuesday) at 230pm he still has got no reply. His PCP is working to try and get the results for him because obviously this office does not call with results or return messages, not in 72 hours, not at all. I wish I had the front desk employees name because I would send a letter to the office manager and the hospital board of directors. Never again. We will drive farther for Community.
