List of MIchael A. Hans's Reviews
I've been seeing Dr. Hans for over a year now, and he is the best neurologist! Most specialists are quick, and don't want to answer your questions, but Dr. Hans is the opposite. He is very thorough, and takes the time to actually listen, and figure out what is going on. He does his research, and is very knowledgeable about a lot. He even takes the time to celebrate the small steps to get you feeling back 100%. I highly recommend this doctor!
Similar experience as the other poster. He was kind and helpful until my diagnosis required doing any actual work. He blamed my symptoms on another disease I have. (EDS) I see one of the top specialists in the world for that disease, and they do not believe my neurological symptoms are related. Did not even read the results of all of the tests he ordered and discharged me without explaining his reasoning. Two tests came back normal, two did not. He decided the two normal ones were reason enough to discharge. Would not explain why. Also, discharged me without a plan for my current neurologic medication. This med can cause severe psychiatric issues if a person goes into withdrawal. He was the prescribing and managing doctor for that med. Seeking a second opinion.
I've been sick for too long and have been trying to find a doctor to help me. Dr. Hans was kind at first, but then when all of my tests were normal, he took a stance: "patient with history of PTSD and a multitude of complaints". It was around the time he left his note in my medical record that another doctor in the IU health system made it clear he didn't believe a word I was saying, regarding an illness I've had surgery for. I don't think these things are unrelated. Systemic illnesses that cause lots of symptoms do, in fact, exist. That's why I came to you? Super disappointing for Hans to decide that because he couldn't locate the problem, it's probably just my mental health. Idk what my PTSD has to do with daily vomiting, not digesting food, constant tingling in my feet, numbness in my legs, and bowel dysfunction, but all right. My psychiatrist laughed when I told him Hans wrote "conversion disorder". So tired of doctors blaming me, when I'm trying to ask for help.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
