Strongly suggest getting second opinion. Maybe knowledgeable, feels like a business endeavor, makes judgements, not a good listener. Surgical nurse seems to have more human resource skills he does.
Dr, Looked at my scans and reports, Explaining everything, about my issues
Dr. Was very rude. Canceled surgery and called me stating he could care less if I came. He makes plenty of money, has plenty of patience and is always busy. Went on saying he is very good, would not hurt me and promised he would not injure my nerves. I decided to get surgery like a moron and not get a second opinion. After surgery I woke up and my left leg/foot was on fire, numb and in pain. After 6 months I terminated this hack. Went to Goodman Campbell at IU. Saw 3 neurosurgeons in a year. All 3 said they would have "never" preformed surgery. Therapy and rest. Went to a neurologist, got tested and my peripheral, sciatic, and L5 root or severely damaged by his hands. Even his nurse practitioner told me that he damaged my nerves by Over manipulation and nicking the peripheral nerve. Today my left leg is shot in total pain, I'm bedridden, can not walk far. This from a very fit, athletic productive individual. There's nothing any neurosurgeon can do. As each neurosurgeon told me, never go to an orthopedic surgeon for spine injury. They're not qualified. I'm living proof. They always seem to put the good reviews on the web not the bad ones but I'll try again. Hopefully I can save someone's life. Once you over manipulate or Nick a nerve it's done. My supposingly injury was mild stenosis instead of moderate-to-severe and a herniated disc L5. The neurosurgeon said the disc woodwould dissolve and absorb in my body and the stenosis was mild and needed no surgery. When I complained my last visit he was very disrespectful and course with me. He's a little money making arrogant, condescending hack. I will be surprised if this goes on the web that's a bad review. But it is. I would be careful with OrthoIndy. They're in in between between IU St Vincent's and Methodist hospitals. I know other people windshield replacement, knee replacements, that struggle today from their doctors.
I have had 6 surgeries performed by Dr. Coscia since 1997. As I have explained to several that have looked at my back issues " No one will work on my back except Dr. Coscia." Dr. Coscia has kept me upright and walking, not sure anyone else could have.
Great expectancies!!!
Dr. Coscia listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. Not rushed through the appt.
I’m very thankful for Dr. Coscia. I saw him when a coworker referred me. I was seeking a second opinion after another surgeon recommended surgery. He suggested we wait and see if my injury healed itself with some time, and it did! I recently over exerted my back and had another flare up. Again, he was great at this follow up consult (seven years later). He treats his patients with kindness and care. I appreciate that as well as his thorough exam and willingness to listen to all concerns. I feel comfortable discussing my spine health with him. Thank you!
Dr. Coscia, Julie and the entire staff OrthoIndy North West are all very knowledgeable and helpful. Surgery got me going again and relieved oain ive lived with for over 10 years.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
