Just LOVE her - she is loving, caring and knowledgeable. She actually listens and cares! I
Her office never responded to the referral forwarded to her by my 86 year old dad's primary care physician. Dad has shingles in July of 2021, and he was not contacted at all until March 2022. He has had severe neuropathic pain for 8 months, and when we went to the appointment, Dr. Darabad made us wait in a hot exam room for nearly 2 hours. I always go with dad to help him walk with this debilitating pain, and help with questions, take notes, etc. She spent about 4-5 minutes with him after he traveled 50 miles each way to have this appointment. She then said that he would receive a call within 2 business days to set up a pain block procedure in mid-April. That was a month ago, and still no call. Our calls have gone unanswered, and his pain gets worse daily. I have filed a formal complaint with the IU Health board of directors, and their HR department, as well as the CEO's office (with whom I serve on another board). As an investigative journalist, I am now working on a story about this since it appears many people have similar complaints about this doctor. This should never happen to anyone, and we are doing everything possible to get this addressed. In the meantime, we are seeing another physician for my dear dad.
Has the bedside manner of a stick of wood. Spent less than 45 seconds with me when I went in for a nerve block. Heard her trashing another patient to the staff very loudly. Unprofessional and tacky which doesn't fit with the I.U. brand. Weeks after the procedure still no pain relief. Agree with other reviewers that another physician would be best for compassionate care.
My dad is a patient of Dr. Rahimi and he has a pain pump. My dad cannot hear very well despite having hearing aids. I attend all of his doctor appointments for that reason. About 2 months ago my dad started complaining of pain in his back which had previously been much better with his pain pump. I made numerous calls to the pain clinic about my dad’s pain only to be told that if he had pain that bad to take him to the ER, which I did. However, the ER doctor said he couldn’t do anything because my dad was under a pain contract, however, follow up with the pain doctor. So, I called the IU Pain Clinic to make an appointment and I was told that she’ll leave a message with a nurse & she’ll call me. So, after no call for 3-4 days, I called again (remember my dad has been in severe pain all this time). I insisted on getting an appointment which finally, I thought something would be done. We got to the appointment the next week only to be scolded. We were told that his pump was fine and he would be fine. They (a nurse practitioner, last name was Patel & a physicians assistant) didn’t touch him. They said his pain pump was working fine. My dad then suggested getting an x-ray of his spine because he was sure something was wrong. They sent him to their x-ray for a lumbar spine. They never called us with results. A week later I took my dad to see his primary care physician for some help. He listened to everything my dad had been going through & he wanted to send out a prescription for a pain medication just to get him comfortable, but his doctor said he should probably call Dr. Rahimi first since dad was under a pain management contract with her. She told the doctor to not give him anything, but she said she’d have her office call us to set up an appointment. We never heard from the Pain Clinic after 4 days, so I called them & at this point I’m beyond frustrated. They said they didn’t know about him needing an appointment, but they’ll put a note back to the nurse.....that’s when I had it!!!! I asked when I could expect a call back & was told 24-48 hrs....not acceptable! I would sit on hold until I have an appointment for my dad. Finally, I was able to get my dad in the next day. That was today. Turns out my dad’s pain pump catheter is blocked! Now he needs to have emergency surgery to get it fixed. My poor dad has been in severe pain now for 2 months & nobody could or would help him. My dad retired from the USAF after serving 20 years, 4 years in Vietnam. He’s a retired commercial airline pilot. He’s a Christian & he helped many people in need. But, most certainly he’s a human being & deserves better than this. The treatment he received from IU Pain Clinic is shameful!!!! Never has he received an apology!
Dr Rahimi is both thorough and personable. I’ve always felt at ease in her care. She embodies compassionate care.
I have been seeing Dr. Rahimi for awhile now, everytime I do she is always very kind and will spend as much time with me as I need. She listens and helps with everything. She is the best doctor I have had.
I was refered to this pain clinic for treatment for Fibromyalgia and Arthritis. She didn't look at the chart consisting of numerous pages where I detailed my diagnoses and symptoms. She then proceded to perform a physical exam for Fibromyalgia diagnosis. There wete no x-rays, MRI or any imaging. There was no bloodwork. I've had this diagnosis for 18 years from multiple Drs. I wasn't refered for a diagnosis, just an exam and treatment. She then stated this "pain clinic" doesnt treat Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a chronic, unrelenting pain condition with no cure. I subsequently recieved a bill for $1,100.00 for this 15 minute exam. Even after 11 months, my insurance doesn't want to pay this outrageous amount.
Dr. Rahimi does not listen to your needs or attempt to return phone calls. She changes your medication dose with your pharmacy without calling you. The walt times are over an hour, and at one appointment I waited over 2.5 hours. The nurses, medical assistants and front desk staff are incompetent and slightly rude. I reckoned St. Francis for your pain management needs.
All 3 of my visits I waited over an hour to see Dr. Rahimi. The second visit I waited 2.5 hours. The staff don't update your medical record accurately, they don't follow up with phone calls, and Dr. Rahimi did not treat my pain at all. She did not listen to my concerns, and I will never return to this clinic. The staff from the front desk to the nurses and medical assistants are incompetent. I recommend St. Francis for any pain management needs.
I've attended this clinic three times to help with severe, chronic pain due to my disability. I saw Dr. Rahimi, and the first time I saw her she prescribed another muscle relaxant even though I'm already taking the max dose of Baclofen as well as Flexaril, Valium and Gabapentin for my stiff muscles and pain. She told me to replace the Flexaril with the new medication and to stop taking the Flexaril. She also prescribed an over the counter supplement. When I returned for my second visit I waited 2 hours past my appointment time to see her. At one point, after sitting in the room for nearly an hour, I went out into the hallway and sat in my wheelchair in the middle of the hallway hoping to get someone's attention. Not only did multiple nurses and medical assistants just walk right past me with nothing to say, Dr. Rahimi herself walked right past me and into her office across the hall. Finally, Dr. Rahimi's medical student asked me if I need something and I told her I need to see my doctor or I'm leaving. She asked who my doctor was and I told her. She then said she did not think that Dr. Rahimi was my doctor and went into Dr. Rahimi's office across the hall to confirm. The door was open, and I heard the entire conversation, so I know Dr. Rahimi heard me. The medical student was told I was her patient and to see me. She then stared asking me multiple questions thar were already answered at my first appointment, and it still took Dr. Rahimi nearly 30 min to finally come to the room. I told her none of the medication was helping, so she merely increased the dose. This made me like a zombie and all I did was sleep. I was then told by my neurologist that the medication she put me on would not be helpful for my condition so I stopped taking it. Today was my final appointment with Dr. Rahimi. It took over an hour after my scheduled appointment time to see her. I told her I stopped taking the medication she gave me because of the side effects and she asked if I was still taking the Flexaril. I said that she took me off of it, and she said it was still in my chart on my medication list. They never updated the medication list when she changed my medicine at the first appointment, and she had no explanation as to why it was not updated. She blamed me for not telling the nurse that I wasn't taking the medication that she discontinued. At that point she suggested another treatment and I told her I would consider it, but I would not be receiving it from her because of the complete lack of organization in the entire office from the front staff to the MA's and nurses and the doctors. It's unacceptable to have to wait that long for a doctor who is not even going to listen to your needs. It's unacceptable to be ignored by your doctor and multiple staff members while waiting in the hallway after being there for 2 hours after your appointment time. This place is disorganized, slow, and does not seem to care about or listen to the patient's needs. They take your money, but don't help you at all. I recommend St. Francis in Indianapolis for any pain management needs.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
