List of Aaron Coats's Reviews
He treated me like a number not like a patient, bed side manner is abrasive and disconnected. Most importantly a week and a day later I’m still waiting on my MRI results! After 10 dislocations I know there’s some damage! Meanwhile I’m still waiting!
After the results of my MRI indicated a meniscus tear, I chose to go for a minimally invasive knee surgery with Dr Coats. He did an EXCELLENT job with the surgery. He has a great support team which helps in every aspect of the surgery and recovery making it a smooth journey. One of his staff members called and completed pre-surgery registration eliminating the long wait at the surgical center. The surgical center’s staff provided the knowledge and assurance to make me feel confident during the process. Dr Coats staff scheduled follow up appointments and set me up with Team Rehab for physical therapy. I had a complete recovery plan in hand when I left the surgical center. Just completed my follow up appointment with Dr Coats today and can honestly say that I will gladly be recommending him. Dr Coats will be my doctor again if any future problems arise.
The staff at his office and Beltway Surgery was great. Two of the nurses told me how much they enjoyed their jobs which was evident in their care. Dr. Coats came to my room, initialed the knee to be scoped and told me I was in good hands with a great staff. He was correct, everyone did a great job! My knee has been repaired, strength and conditioning is underway. Thank you all!
For someone to leave a one star and negative review because a Doctor would not help with pain management is pretty pathetic in my opinion! These are no longer the days of the 80's! You cannot just walk in an office now and get pain meds lol believe me I know...I had frozen shoulder in my right arm and it took me not one but five places of medical facilities and Doctors before I finally found out that I had frozen shoulder, it was so unbearably painful and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! I suppose I could have asked to be referred to pain management but I am not sure of the criteria or such that one needs to be referred to pain management. But needless to say I received a cortisone shot and the next day I felt 100% better with no pain and I could finally move my arm normally and get dressed and undressed. It never once crossed my mind to be a negative Nancy or a Debbie downer and leave bad reviews from my discomfort! The world has changed drastically so much from back in the day heck people they are getting rid of Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head come on now geez and so you cannot blame Doctors nor be mad at them because they have guidelines and rules to follow. Yeah I know it sucks tremendously, but it is what it is today! I also know not everyone has an addiction to drugs, but these Doctors do not know meeting you for the first time and as much as I hate to admit it there are a lot of scheming manipulative people out there and unfortunately I know a few! However, Dr. Aaron Coats and staff are by far not rude nor unprofessional in any manner! They are very caring, considerate, sweet, kind, and humorous! ❤For you Debbie Downers and Negative Nancy's out there...Have a Coke or Snickers and Smile! ヅ
Very caring
Very rude and in my opinion very unprofessional. Instead of getting to know his patient he automatically assumes everyone is a drug addict when they are in pain and ask for help controlling it while they get the necessary treatment to repair the problem. The whole idea of seeking orthopedic care is because one is in pain. Then didn't even address the issue I came in for.
This was my 2nd torn rotator cuff surgery with Dr. Coats. 1st was left shoulder in 2016 torn by a ice sidewalk fall, this summer of 2020, was a 12mph bicycle accident tearing my right shoulder. I asked for Dr. Coats as he did such a fantastic job on my large tear left shoulder in 2016. He has again done a superior surgeon job on my right shoulder. I am 63. I have full motion & no pains. Still building strength but I again expect to be able to do 30 pushups & 10 pullups in a set. Recovery takes awhile - using the fine folks at Team Rehabilitation but the results are as desired !
It was a pleasure to work with Dr. Coats and his staff. My shoulder surgery and recover went very smoothly and today I have full range of motion back.
So I had an MRI done (left shoulder) with Dr Coats in Kokomo and not only did they charge for a visit to get the MRI results, all he said was I see no problem, maybe do some bicep exercise at home. So I received a 2nd opinion with access to my MRI, they called me tonite, Dr explained 4 things going on in my shoulder, including 1 tear, possible another labral tear along with arthritis and tendinitis.. So I can only assume my original Ortho doctor must of had the wrong file for my "paid" for follow up visit or he simply didnt read it.. Very unhappy with the Kokomo office and care, I knew something was wrong.....
Had excellent result from shoulder surgery. I am glad Dr Coats was my surgeon. If I need other surgeries in the future I will request him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
