I had to take my 7 year old son in for what I thought might be strep. My son was extremely upset and the nurse and I struggled to convince him to calm down for the strep swab. We then saw NP Brent VanSickle and he was amazing with my son. He was able to get my son calm and relaxed enough to assess him in peace! My boy was even laughing and smiling again when we left. More pleasant experience at my most recent visit than previous ones. Could not get in right away and had to wait 36 hours for a scheduled appointment, but that was the only negative thing. Wait time was surprisingly minimal when I arrived for my appointment, and the nurse practitioner was great. Had me in and out with a prescription for my ear infection in 45 minutes. I was a bit skeptical of WellNow, having tried to visit them several months ago during normal business hours only to find them closed. But I ended up reasonably happy with my experience. The check-in person was rather slow, but it wasn’t really a problem. I was a bit irritated at the fact that, although I had taken the time to input photos of my ID & insurance info the day before online, they redundantly took the same info during the intake process. Next time I won’t bother to enter info online, knowing it’s a waste of my time. I had made an appointment online, with my earliest option being next day at 3:00 pm. I didn’t have to wait long to be taken to my exam room, but I did end up waiting for over 30 minutes before getting seen. I suspect I had to be triaged down due to a kid who came in with eye trauma, so I was OK with that. One of the lobby staff was nice enough to come in, apologize and offer snacks which I thought was nice. I was seen by a tech who took my information and cleaned my wound. Then the doctor came and checked on me and agreed that a tetanus shot was needed. Finally a nurse came and delivered my injection. All in all the whole process was about an hour and a half, which I thought was reasonable. Everyone there was pleasant and competent. I would definitely go to WellNow again.
