List of Angela R. Wheeler's Reviews
1st impressions are important: The staff was pleasant, professional and efficient from check in, to the timely quality time spent with my new PCP!
Great staff, and Dr. Angela was easy to talk to and has a way with calming your spirit even when news is not so good to hear I am grateful that doctors like her still exist 1000% recommend her services
She communicates very well. The nurses are also great.
I like her but her time management isn’t to my liking you set a time for an appointment and you will spend your whole day there
Dr. Wheeler helped me through the scariest time of my life. During the pandemic I had some very strange health challenges. She assisted in me getting to where I am now. She listens she doesn't pass off meds, she looks for root cause.
I am a 57 year old male. I have been seeing Dr. Wheeler going on five years now. I am not originally from the area. I’m from the Northeast Coast. I moved here to be with my love. I was looking for a doctor that both my girlfriend and I can share. So I did. If only Big Insurance wouldn’t have such a grip on these doctors and their staff. As a nation we would have even greater doctors for this world. With all the control these insurance companies have on our doctors, nurses, and staff; Dr. Wheeler; I wish to have as a personal friend within my little family. With all (COVID) that surrounds us; Dr. Wheeler manages to offer a personal atmosphere caring for my girlfriend and I. Half the journey of personal healthcare as a patient is my responsibility; I share the other half with a caring doctor. Thank you Dr. Wheeler, Nurse Doris, and staff. People like you shine with hope.
She was not the right doctor for me. I always felt like she was judging me.
I have been seeing Dr. Wheeler for several years now. She is the type of doctor that genuinely cares about you and your well being. When her practiced closed in Chesterton, I opted to see a local doctor rather than travel out to Merrillville. THAT was a mistake and my health paid the price. So I now gladly commute to Merrillville because I know I'll see a doctor who will help me live my best life.Sometimes my wait is longer than anticipated, but I appreciate that its because she gives each patient the attention they deserve and she doesn't RUSH you through your appointments. And because she's a family medicine doctor, I can see her for everything. When she can't help me she gives me referrals to other excellent doctors. I tore my ACL and she referred me to Dr. Musgraves from Lakeshore Bone and Joint and I'm so glad she did. He's one of the best surgeons I could have hoped to work with and I doubt I would have found him otherwise because internet searches are too extensive and I feel like finding a good doctor nowadays is by random chance-unless you get a good referral. She's a great physician and I plan on seeing her as my PCP until she retires.
After taking my daughter out of school, the receptionist tells me she cannot take my daughter or myself because we had my one year with us and the hospital policy says only the patients can come back. However, no one said that upon making the appointment and my son is one for Gods sake. Not to mention, the doctor is a family doctor so if my son had an appointment it would have been no issue. Then she repeated that the rules were not hers over and over. I told the receptionist I’d need at least a note saying my daughter had an appointment that was cancelled and she said the doctor wouldn’t write one for that. Literally the worst customer service. She said she was going to get her supervisor and never came back up to the front desk. I wanted to see this doctor because it’s hard to find a female black doctor in the area and of course it turns into all of this. So let down. But everything happens for a reason.
Dr is very likable took her time to explain things and I appreciated it.My only regret is she left my area.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
