There are no words to describe this wonderful dr. He as well as Abby and Shelly his assistants saved my life. I have a friend who was just diagnosed to have heart valve replacement. she's scared and asked for a 2nd opinion. I referred her to Dr. Meldrum. she's waiting for her dr to send him a referral. Dr Meldrum did a heart transplant on me and I am celebrating my anniversary with a new heart. I was near death and have had five good years and hope for many more. Seems like a dream. Thank you Dr Meldrum

On August 17, 2012 I was wheeled into the operating room at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. The previous day I was placed in an ambulance in Stuart, Florida in order to be transported 4 hours (250 miles) to Shands. At 49 years old I had an aortic root aneurysm, a pulmonary embolism, and was in need of a Bentall procedure. After countless hours searching for a surgeon with Bentall procedure experience, I located Dr. Meldrum at Shands. He's incredible, and gave me more life with my family
