A year ago, i went to Dr. Walsh because I’d checked that she had interest and experience with glaucoma patients and now I’m looking for another doctor (mine moved away two years ago) and seeing her name made me shudder all over again - I’m almost 60 and have been wearing eyeglasses or contacts since 14. Last year, I had never had a more painful appointment where a doctor shone a light that bright that long into one’s eye. I understand now how one of those people feel - being tortured with eyes pried wide open and a bright light directed into it - no sense at all of how it feels to be on the receiving end. Her demeanor was also offhanded - zero bedside manner.

Doc Walsh is a Brilliant Dr. I highly recommend her. I had Lasic surgery with her and had no problems whatsoever. No pain, and no floaters. SincerelyMartha Halsey

After waiting almost an hour, a tech called me back and examined me. (She was fine.) I then waited another hour for Dr. Walsh. She spent less than five minutes with me and seemed uninterested in my symptoms. She said she would prescribe antibiotic drops for me to be used four times a day. Two hours later, no prescription had been called in, and the pharmacy closed. I called back early the next morning. By 3:30 PM, still no prescription. I called again and was told Dr. Walsh couldn't be bothered in surgery. Finally, someone else wrote a prescription for an eye ointment, which I already had at home - all with completely different directions and not addressing the problem for which I sought help. To top it off, the prescription was sent to my previous pharmacy, despite my instructions otherwise. I finally gave up and tried to treat the problem with the ointment with no luck. I will be searching for another doctor.

An ophthalmologist in another city performed glaucoma surgery on one of my eyes. The procedure failed leaving me unable to see out of that eye. I was referred to Dr. Walsh at Duke Eye Center who successfully corrected the other Dr.'s errors giving me 20/40 vision in that eye. One month later she performed cataract surgery on both eyes. I now have 20/30 vision in the corrected eye and 20/20 in the other eye. She was extremely thorough and responsive. I highly recommend Dr. Walsh .
