RUN AWAY FROM THIS UNSKILLED "SURGEON". 3 people I know came out of his surgery either partially paralyzed or got a life altering infection in the spinal cord. He should be flipping burgers at McDonald's, IUHealth. Stop protecting him, he's terrible and causing so much harm.

Put a lp shut in my spine. He didn't attach the reservoir to my pelvis good. I went to Ball Hospital with spasms so bad I was arched off the bed. Instead of doing to tests to see why he sent a psych consult! Since I passed psych eval he discharged me. The next morning I got up and I was grey and extremely weak and sick. I went to St vincent Anderson and collapsed in the ER lobby. When I came to the Dr told me my blood pressure was 52/14! Due to his negligence I had a collapsed lung on one side and pneumonia in the other! They said if my mom would have tried to take me to Indy or not came when I did I would have died! Please please please do not go to him your life is worth more! I regret everyday not suing this man for almost killing me!

Rude, wouldn’t listen to me, had X-ray & mri done for my neck, my dr sent me to this quack.. said my shoulder shouldn’t be hurting. Have bone spurs, have severe left & mild right neuroforaminal stenosis multilevel degenerative changes at c6-c7, thecal sac stenosis at c3-c4, c4-c5, c5-c6. Multilevel neural foraminal narrowing severe on right at c5-c6 & c6-c7. He said my shoulder shouldn’t be hurting. Tried to tell him my neck hurts so bad I can hardly turn my neck , my bones pop & crack when I move my neck. Told him pain was severe in my neck going into my shoulder & shoulder blade. Obviously he can’t read an mri or my dr wouldn’t have sent me to a surgeon. I let my dr know not to send anyone else to him. He asked if I’d went to chiropractor, I did few months ago and I it was the worse pain when he cracked my neck. My chiropractor wanted copy of my mri and he looked at it and said no more cracking your neck. So dr phookan sent to physical therapy which I’m not going. Idiot.. how does he still have his license .🤬

Do not walk away - RUN!! RUN as fast as you can! This "doctor" is very similar to the doctor of death. He RUINED my mother. She walked in for surgery and has never walked again. She is completely bed bound, incontinent, unable to roll over, sit up, operate a wheel chair or hoveround. He operated twice and was ready to operate again until we stepped in and said NO MORE. Ball Memorial Hospital case managers took bets based on her condition that he was the surgeon. Unfortunately they were right. RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!

Did a fine job on my spinal fusion.

HORRIBLE DOCTOR!!I would trust my dog's vet over this guy, Don't walk away from this guy instead RUN FOR YOUR LIFE if you want one after this guy works on you. I am a nurse & know this guy, bad news. He missed some important points on my MRI. He wanted to do surgery. got another review and was told surgery could have caused me to never walk again.

I had Dr. Phookan and he was to place a shunt into my ventricle to drain off excess spinal fluid. He went straight through the ventricle and had the shunt actually sucking in part of my brain which caused me to undergo a second surgery done by a different surgeon. This was done 9 months ago and my head still isn't healed properly.

Please avoid this doctor at all costs. He cut a nerve while working on my back and caused me to be in excruciating pain. We were warned by several nurses to switch doctors and to NOT let him operate on me. Unfortunately, I hoped DR. Silvide was going to work on me, but he was too busy and gave me to Dr. Phookan. He has crippled me for the rest of my life and I have met others that had the very same out come as I have had. Still in extreme pain and having to use a walker. PLEASE,PLEASE get a different neurosurgeon!

Dr Fuckan should be barred for life from ever practicing medicine in any way. Just read the reviews. He crippled me for life, leaving me unable to walk and in a wheelchair and then denied having done anything wrong. What a quack. He has left a path of death and destruction all over the state. For your own safety and for the sake of your family, do not go anywhere near this phoney doctor. I wish the worst for him and hope that the competent doctors run him out of the profession. I rate him a zero in every category.
