List of Southern Indiana Rehabilitation Hospital's Reviews
Would have given it .5 stars if I could - and only that many because while my mom was there she did have only a handful of good nurses and aides. There were a few dangerous lapses of my mom’s care while she was there - and I had to make 3 incident reports with the nurse supervisor in the period of 2 weeks. Absolutely ridiculous. Also several staff members were very rude. I would not recommend taking your loved one there.
The face of any facility (the front desk receptionist) needs to be friendly. This facility is no exception.
Do not send your loved one here, I beg you. My dad has had to go there twice due to limited options with insurance. This time he was only there one week, now he’s in the hospital fighting fir his life. My mom found out when a doctor called from the hospital. She wasn’t even given the courtesy of a phone call to let her know he was sent to the ER.
1 star is being generous. This is the worse rehab hospital.
I have never heard anything from CEO, or a nurse or spoke person? They told my mother and sister who picked me up I was rude? I was staying in Boonville, IN. for 3 months, my care givers after major brain surgery, I was told to stay at UOFL hospital for 6 days and surgery would be 6 hours, surgery was 11 hours, I stayed there 14 days. I was transferred to Southern Indiana Rehab. The doctor who did my surgery told me.. YOU had major brain surgery, THATS what happens what you been through. southern Indiana rehab never call me back? I reported this hospital. When I got out of southern rehab they wanted me to come back for PT SPEECH THERAPY, I went to care givers in Boonville, IN. for 3 months of recover. I went to St. Vincent hospital for PT and Speech therapy. I cried there, but I was not RUDE as SOUTHERN REHAB TOLD MY FAMILY. I did well no complaints At ST. VINCENT HOSPITAL. A nurse at Southern REHAB DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ME A HUG GOODBYE. I wish I remember her name, short brown hair, she took me to a kitchen to work me, she had me bounce a exercise ball and take sticky notes off the walls in both sides. First thing she did for me was wash my hair, my hair was full of blood, my major brain surgery, I seen the metal on the toilet move across the bathroom floor At SOUTHERN REHAB. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO SOUTHERN REHAB. I have not heard anything back from CEO.
Southern Indiana Rehab cannot be reviewed as 1 facility as there are 3 within its walls. My review is about the sub acute, or nursing home licensed section. It was sometimes called the progressive unit. It's where joint replacement patients are sent. The care was awful. Immediately after a total knee replacement I was not scheduled for rehab for 4 days. I was so troubled by it that I insisted on it and got 1 short session two different days. The room was not clean, the sheets weren't changed, and I waited up to an hour for my calls to be answered. Even pain medications were often not administered on time, and assistance to go to the bathroom was delayed.Once, the person on call left to go home before sending someone to my room. A neighboring patient was loud and argumentative with visitors and his door was never closed. Of lesser importance was the bad food. One positive was the nurses and aides who came to my room. They were very nice. I would never send anyone here after joint replacement.
We loved our stay. Thank you to all of the staff that helped though a difficult time.
SIRH has been serving patients in Indiana for over 25 years, providing compassionate care to help those overcoming Stroke, Brain Injuries and Pulmonary Issues, as well as getting back to better after surgeries and traumatic events.Their staff strives for excellence and patients are definitely focused with their therapy goals to return home whenever possible!!A great place for rehabilitation if you need to get stronger to go home.
Great Outpatient team!
My dad spent two weeks in this facility for a TBI. We were worried based on some other reviews since we wanted nothing short of the best care for him. Southern Indiana Rehab has one of the most amazing facilities. The physical therapy area is huge with so many options of different obstacles, an apartment so the patients can learn how to function independently again, and the technology is great as well. Of course no one wants to see their loved one go through anything like this but I promise you are in great hands here. All the way down to the ladies that deliver their meals. They come in the room and have a smile on their face and a short convo with the patient. It’s the small things!! The nurses and case manager were my favorite! My dad is only 55 and this was the hardest thing he has ever had to do but he was given a second chance at life because of Southern Indiana Rehab!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
