Stephen T. Cestari's Online Review Report Card

To whom it may concern, Good evening, I am contacting you in regards to Dr. Stephen T. Cestari license # 209472. The experience my daughter and I had with him was utterly unprofessional, disgusting and disheartening. I will continue to send this letter to all his affiliates in order to remind him to never break his oath to provide care to those in need. It is not a choice, it is a promise he made. On August 8th, 2021, he broke that oath. With that being said, upon arrival at St. Luke's Montefiore Newburgh 6th floor OB/Labor, my daughter Antoinette Lewis was admitted during active labor. We were introduced to Dr. Cestari after the nursing staff made her comfortable to prepare for the birth of my granddaughter. He was previously informed that my daughter did not want the covid test to be administered and agreed to universal precautions which included wearing masks when the hospital staff entered the room. We remained compliant. Dr. Cestari made contact with my daughter and began gathering her medical history. Shortly after he stated, “we have a problem, I need you to take the covid test or I cannot treat you”. I responded, “what do you mean you won’t treat her if she doesn't have the covid test done? ” I continued “does this mean you won't deliver the baby?” His answer was an astonishing “yes, I won’t treat her.” This is absolutely unacceptable. This is an intentional act of patient abandonment, neglect, retaliation, unethical medical practice and care, violation of human rights, liberties and bullying. Dr. Cestari also prolonged care to my daughter by leaving the room when I became upset as any parent/grandparent would who is advocating for the wellbeing of their family and when that wellbeing is questionable at risk. He then instructed the nursing supervisor to inform me that he would deliver the baby if I was not in the room. My daughter and I respectfully declined. The hospital had to contact another Dr. who was at home to respond to deliver my granddaughter. Dr. Cestari did not return to my daughter’s room at any time. He should not be allowed to selectively treat patients who require care. In this case, my daughter delivering her first child who was already in active labor and 4cm dilated. He took an oath to service humanity. This act by Dr. Cestari is the opposite of the pledge he made. There is and always will be emotional trauma associated with the birth of my beautiful granddaughter because of Dr. Cestari.

I started with Dr. Cestari at Women's Medical and he has always been very detailed and attentive to any concerns. He has helped me get through a lot of things. I was a pt at women's medical since 16 (treating with Dr. Wexler in the earlier days) and when Dr. Cestari joined CRHC I followed him and I am 49 now. he has been my only OB Dr. for the past 16 years.

He's the best doctor around!

I went to him for a second opinion, Thank God I did! He was extremely professional, great bed-side manner, and explained everything so that I could understand my situation and the upcoming surgery. Needless to say I ditched the other doctor, and Dr. Cestari successfully completed my surgery. The facility is top notch, short waiting period, and everyone is very friendly. I will definitely recommend Dr. Cestari and Crystal Run to all family & friends! Thank You!!

I being Dr Cestari's patient for over 10yrs. He makes you feel very comfortable. He takes his time to explain any questions you may have. Or any procedure he's doing during your appointment.

Dr. Cestari takes the time to listen to my concerns, and then answers all of my questions. No question is ever trivial or not important. If something is important to me, it's important to him.

Took my daughter for her first pelvic exam. She was terrified. Dr Cestari explained everything he was doing step by step in a calm and relaxed voice. He was absolutely terrific. A wonderful man

Hands down the best doctor ever! He is so caring and takes his time.. If you are looking for a new OBGYN He is awesome!! I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I love Dr. Cestari - he is so caring and never rushes through an appointment. He takes time to discuss concerns and I always feel like I'm chatting with a friend. Unfortunately the office staff at the facility is lacking in following up on appointments or reminders - what should have been a 6 month reminder to me, turned into almost 10 months. I know now to watch my own calendar and not depend on that staff to call with a reminder visit.
