He is on time and focused. He gets to the issues and answers all intelligent questions. He explained all that he was doing in the procedure. He did not rush and talked with the patient. He is very well educated. Urologists are hard to find and getting an appointment is difficult and can take a month! This is not his fault.

On time for procedure. Explained very move. Answered all questions. Not rushed. Takes needed time with patient. Very very well trained and very bright doctor. Focused on the procedures needed. Explained options and recommended next steps. Major problem is that Urologists are not plentiful here and so appointments are difficult to set and much time (up to month) is required now. Not the doctor’s fault!

I was diagnosed with a 7.5 mm kidney stone at Memorial Hospital ER on August 3, 2021. I was told then, and by my regular physician that I could not pass that stone on my own. Dr. Cooper was the on-call urologist that day and was assigned to my case. In the following 4 months he ordered 3 different x-rays, which were each followed up by an office visit. Never did I see any of these multiple x-rays though I requested to. He never once ordered a urine specimen, which was VERY odd to me. Near the end of my time as a patient of his, he ordered another CT Scan (with contrast), stating that the Scan from the ER “was useless” or “junk”. This on-going ridiculousness has brought me to the Holidays and seeking another opinion. My new Dr.‘s opinion is that, if a stone this size does not pass after one month, you go in and get it. My surgery is scheduled for this week. I left Dr. Cooper’s care because I feel he took advantage of my Ins and Medicare.
