Not very thorough. I had a expensive heart scan done. He talked to me about this scan and made a diagnosis. I then went to Cleveland Clinic and was informed the scan was not at all readable and was told how could he have made a diagnosis from it. This test as well cost me out of pocket expenses. The Cleveland Clinic Dr said I was on wrong meds that Dr P prescribed.I notified Compliance and of course they had many excuses. My insurance said they wanted to file a case. I should have but found a new Dr that has me on the right track.Just going to move on and hope that Dr Patel rethinks what is best for his Patients and not be in such a hurry to Mis-diagnose on false tests.
I have an ascending aortic aneurysm that was discovered quite by accident. I was referred to Dr. Patel to monitor it's size through a CAT scan yearly. Which I have done. I get the scan then have a follow up office visit to discuss it. Summer of 2020 I had the CAT scan but was not mentally up to the office follow up in the Height of the pandemic. Summer 2021, I call to schedule the scan, but my other specialist had ordered some labs that revealed my kidneys were throwing off some strange numbers. Dr. Patel's office called to cancel the scan due to the harsh effects of the contrast on the kidneys. The office recommended I come see his in house nutritionist. I declined because I already had an appointment scheduled with a kidney specialist. After being released by the kidney specialist for the CAT scan, I again call the office to get the scan scheduled. I was refused. I MUST see him before he will schedule the scan. Why? Because I didn't see him last year after the scan. I'm sorry, but there was this little thing going down last year that you might of noticed, taking down people with compromised immune systems left and right. I was haughtily told that my PCP could order it but Patel would not unless I saw him before. Ridiculous. Not like he could see the aneurysm in an office visit. I got the scan, and rest assured I will follow up with a cardiologist. It certainly won't be this jerk.
Rescheduled appointments multiple times. Doesn't listen to patients. Have been in AFib more than a year and can't get him to fix it. Not a cardiologist you can count on.
Was orginally scheduled to see a different cardiologist. Appointment was changed to see Dr. Patel. He did an EKG first to get an 'inside' look at my heart. Once we passed that portion of the appointment, he asked questions as to why I was there, what concerned me, and explained what he was thinking. He also shared the plan moving forward to see if we could figure out how he could be help me and symptoms I was having. Dr. Patel was straigh forward, listened to me and what I had to say and answered my questions. Since 2017 I have had several doctors and Dr. Patel is on my list of "ONE OF THE BEST'! I think the change in doctor's was a sign that put Dr. Patel in my path for a reason. Doc and I have a plan to start off with and we will move forward as we begin to analyze and diagnose what the next steps are. First impressions mean a lot ot me. Dr. Patel has earned my trust. He is sharp, knowledgable, and professional. Now we go to work to figure out what the issue is, if there is an issue. If there is no serious issue, I can rest easier. If there is an issue we take care of it. Either way Dr. Patel has earned my trust and that means a lot psychology to a patient. Thanks, Doc!
Horrible , bedside manor isn’t good. I felt just as upset and stressed when I left there as I did when I arrived.
I transfered to Dr. Patel from another cardiologist when I moved. He is young but very knowledgeable. I think I received more info about my condition in my first visit with him than the past 5 yrs with my previous cardiologist. He has good information and knowledge of the heart. He doesn't have a huge sense of humor but he isnt there to joke I guess. Overall a very good experience.
If you want a doctor that forms his opinion before he talks to you and lectures you rather than have a conversation, this doctor is for you.

Mom went to see Dr. Patel for her first visit with a Cardiologist! He took a long time talking to mom and asking her questions. He looked at her list of medications and made two changes. He has excellent rapport with mom and sought input from me, her son. He informed us of his treatment plans for mom. When we left the Clinic, mom told me several times how much she liked Dr. Patel! Our visit was A+!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
