The entire staff at St. John Oral Surgery and Dental Implants is amazing. I made an appointment here based on a recommendation after a local place couldn't perform a dental extraction on a failed root canal for 3 months. St. John's was able to get me in same day for the extraction and bone grafting. They were very thorough explaining the process and what to expect. The implant was done 3 months later and both procedures were painless. I drove an hour one way and would do it again in a heart beat. Highly recommend!

My experience with St. John Oral Surgery and Dental Implants has left me convinced that the brilliant and compassionate Dr. Emily Smythe and her caring and competent staff could solve nearly every societal problem. I had an extraordinary dental issue when I first visited Dr. Smythe's office. My wisdom teeth were impacted, and causing infections, but more distressing and potentially hazardous, one of the wisdom teeth was in collision with a partially erupted molar. Due to how deeply the teeth rested in my mandible, extraction left me at profoundly high risk of jaw fracture. I was panic-stricken, but immediately felt a sense of calm and comfort upon interacting with Dr. Smythe and her skillful staff, and observing the cleanliness and state of the art technology in the facility. Dr. Smythe is an excellent surgeon. I once joked with her that she is the "Lebron James" of oral medicine. If visitors in the Chicagoland area would like to substitute, "Michael Jordan," in the comparison, feel free. She provides outstanding care, but is also accessible - never hesitating to take phone calls, answer questions, or handle patients, such as your humble author, who request explanation and reassurance. She and her staff maintain not only the highest professional standards, but affable, approachable dispositions, a sense of humor, and abounding kindness. My surgical drama had a happy ending. I did not suffer a jaw fracture or any other complications from the extraction of three wisdom teeth and the partially erupted molar. Because I had an exceptional need for post-op monitoring, Dr. Smythe scheduled six months of follow-up appointments - all of which were made easy - even pleasant - by her mastery of her craft, and the good-natured hospitality of her surgical aides and receptionists. My only wish is that I could visit Dr. Smythe for all medical needs. If you find yourself in the unwanted position of having to schedule oral surgery, do yourself a favor by visiting the "dream team" at St. John Oral Surgery and Dental Implants.

My first visit for a consultation and I was very impressed with the facility, the staff and Dr. Smythe. It was obvious from their friendly, but professional demeanor that this practice is all about the patient. The final “wow” for me was how this practice employs modern dentistry tools! Honestly, I thought all dentistry was stuck in the 1960’s, but not here. Super happy I was recommended here, I extend that recommendation to all.

My son had his wisdom teeth removed with Dr Smith and I couldn’t ask for a better place to do this. The procedure was very smooth and easy and my son recovered pretty great after we follow all the office instructions. I loved this place and highly recommended it!

I was seen today for an extraction of a molar. I have severe anxiety when it comes to needles/the dentist in general and the staff made me feel extremely comfortable. Dr. Smyth is extremely professional and kind. She talked me through everything, and gave me all of my options. The hygienist, Giselle (sorry for the spelling), went out of her way to make me feel heard and answered all of my questions with no issue, she is clearly extremely knowledgeable and her client service was 11/10. If you are anxious, this is the place to go. I now feel SO much better and am so grateful to be on the path to recovery. You are all wonderful, thank you!
