List of Chris A Lueking's Reviews
I only choose to write reviews when I feel service was extraordinary or completely insufficient, and this time it was the latter. The only experience I have had with Lueking was not a pleasant one. He was the on-call doctor when I called in regarding how my poorly husband was feeling after surgery (he was not the doctor who performed the surgery), and had to be paged to get ahold of him. When he answered the phone the first and only thing he had to say was “I got a page”. Didn’t introduce himself or ask what issues he was having. The rest of the call he was very short and condescending as I was asking questions, and would speak over me every time I tried explaining the situation. Was very snarky and demeaning with every sentence. He told me to have my husband take ibuprofen, which is contraindicated post-surgery, even the nurses post-op informed us to not let him take ibuprofen, only Tylenol. When I brought it up to Lueking that he we were informed not to take it, he impolitely said “well why not”, to which I replied “because it’s a blood thinner and he just had surgery this morning.” At the end of our conversation, he said “well if you have a number for a pharmacy for me to call right now, I need to get to a procedure”. All I could think about was if this was some older gentleman or lady calling in instead of me, how horrible they would have felt to have to deal with a doctor with such poor behavior. I am slightly understanding of needing to get to your next procedure, but that is no reason to be the way he was. I was not impressed, and I’m thankful this man was not the one who performed surgery on my husband today.
Everything by the book. You hire a surgeon for skills, not for warm fuzzies. Office visits always went fast. Office staff is very good.
May be a good surgeon but he has no skill with the follow up. The nurses did not know his correct orders, he did not answer the questions asked after surgery, during the follow up visit he gave almost no time to the patient and seemed annoyed at being asked questions regarding the care of the wound.
did good on my surgery very good
Dr. Leuking, I only get paid 6 cents per line to listen to your mumbling dictation. This makes my salary about $4 per hour. Could you please speak a little more clearly. thanks.
Dr. Lueking is knowledgeable & all in all good at what he does, BUT is honestly socially awkward & doesn't have the best bedside manner. He took care of my hubby 2x. The 1st time was a routine colonoscopy & I wasn't impressed w/ him & I ended up telling him off in post-conference which he then apologized to me & my husband. I swore we wouldn't go back BUT hubby had bout of diverticulitis & he was only 1 available to do the scope. Given amt of pain I let him do the scope. He did better 2nd time.
Had he not been seated on small stool I swear he'd have fidgeted from one foot to the other. Failed to look me in the eye. Never cracked a smile. Looked like he wanted to be anywhere else in the world. It was obvious he had no desire to deal with my situation.
I have had surgeries but none done as skillful and knowledge as DR. Chris Leuking. Thank you Dr. Lueking.
Dr. Lueking performed my Nissen Fundoplication about 2 weeks ago. Prepping for my surgery again I would like to thank Rhonda for her patience in regards to my work schedule. My surgery went well, thanks to Dr. Lueking and his team who was with him in the operating room. I am Recouping well. I would recommend Dr. Lueking and his staff if your considering surgery for acid reflux/gurd relief. I will say it is so nice to eat/drink foods that caused my heartburn to act up, and actually enjoy it with no discomfort. For those who also decide to opt for surgery you will have to adapt to a different lifestyle of eating, where you would have to eat more frequently and smaller portions of meals. If you were to eat out just know that you will be taking a doggie back home with you. On a lighter note, the Nursing staff at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. were ALL very courteous, kind, and helpful just remember you are NOT the only patient there! Have respect for your nurses.
Due to my employment scheduling is quite difficult, Ronda was very patient and helpful with working around both my schedule and the Dr's. I went in for my acid reflux problems. The first scheduled appt. for having the monitor in my nose and down my throat for 24 hrs. was convenient because I didn't have to work that day. My second schedule for the throat scope had to be rescheduled a few times and thankfully Ronda again was patient being able to work with my ever changing and unknowing schedule. My third schedule to get the x-ray's of my stomach and enjoying the delicious chalky drink (tasted like strawberry's and banana's) as it was being done wasn't too bad as I was able to make that one after a few rescheduling's Ronda again being very helpful, patient, and understanding. My last schedule is for the operation, will let you know how that goes when the time comes. I haven't had any problems with the staff, and Dr Lueking is very knowledgeable, friendly, and understanding.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
