Good hospital, offer many services.
A worker got fired from here for being sick for to long. The statement claimed that they werent communicating with the staff about what was going on, but the person was there every 3-4 days to get checked up on. Along with calling every other day because other staff was asking about them. Plus a note stating that they cant work till they had been better. And it was a joke that they sent an email to the person an hour after just coming from an appointment from the same hospital that they work at saying they are fired. All I can say is that, that whole situation was a big joke and honestly was a waste of money. To have to increase the amount of money they owe to the place and then fire the person do to own places bs.
The staff here is amazing and very knowledgeable. My family always receives excellent care here from compassionate people. The recently remodeled hospital is exceptional. I recently delivered my baby at this hospital and had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Clay County Medical Center!
If i could give it less i would three times have used this service such a joke they sure take your money and charge extremely high price for testing but refuse to tell you what they found very rude and unprofessional pa cant even get a doctor never again this place used to care but now its just how much that can be charged to you with no thought to the patient only their wallet if you have to drive 1000 miles before you enter their doors then you and you wellbeing are better off this place should be torn down for a parking lot thats all is good for
the staff in therapy is absolutely fantastic and anytime I have had to be in the hospital weather be in the emergency room or just one of the quick visits to the specialty clinic I am treated so well
UPDATE: Our 5 year old son broke his arm and we were able to see an orthopaedic surgeon IN CLAY CENTER. Wonderful Experience! Great doctors and helpful staff. I think we're fortunate to have a mixture of both very experienced doctors and younger doctors that our family can grow with.
Called to take a Mandatory DOT Drug test, got transferred in circles, spoke to 5 different people, even talked to several people twice, and was refused, because no one knew what was going on, or even wanted to help. Several of the people I spoke to were horribly rude. Glad I didn't call because I was sick or dying!
I been coming to the Clay County Medical Center for 17 plus years, we have always received great care in the ER or OB or in any part of the hospital. Its a great asset for this community!
I have brought my daughter in several times when she was having problems with her heart. I was always treated with respect and my daughter received excellent care!
Spoke with two practitioners that advised an ER visit to the nearest hospital, so I call ahead and to clay county medical. They agree that it would be best to come in. Waited for two hours in the ER, (the only patients in the ER waiting room) and then when I was finally able to speak with the APRN, she refused to do any testing and implied that I did not have a "real illness" by telling me that she just released four people with a "real illness." Meanwhile, I'm presenting with a rash, fatigue, nausea, and had a fever earlier in the day. This is all a couple days after finding and removing at least four ticks.Your job is not to send patients to different hospitals if they don't show each and every textbook symptom or if you can't figure out what is wrong. Your job is to listen to your patients. We are coming to you for help. It makes me even more nauseous to realize that in my father's final hours he came to this very hospital and was treated exactly like this. The only difference was, he died. By the time he was flown to a competent medical center, it was too late. Extremely disappointed, Clay County Medical Center, extremely disappointed.
Went there in horrible pain from an infected tooth. Have a knot as big as a dime on it, so it's easily noticable. It's a weekend and the Christmas holidays so trying to get an appointment with my regular doctor at the VA in Topeka won't happen. First thing out of her mouth is that due to people abusing narcotics they can't give me anything for my pain. Told me in the snobbiest manner that she could give me a shot and that's all she could do. Lied to me about hospital policy and when I asked to see that policy was denied. This e.r is an absolute joke they must just hire anyone off the street wether they know anything or not.
I have used the services of this hospital on several occasions, and have had nothing but excellent care! From surgery, to ER, to therapy, to dealing with my ill and aging father, I always received compassionate and competent care from the nursing staff, doctors, and really everyone who works there! Very happy to have such a broad range of services right here at home, in our small Kansas town.
My husband has been seen in the ER, been taken care of as an inpatient and had the good fortune of being able to see specialists in the clinic. We are so grateful for Clay County Medical Center and the providers who have cared for us.
My father who was 93-94 years old at the time spent weeksat Clay County Medical Center twice with double pneumonia. The care given by the staff to my dad was constant and evenoverwhelming at times. When my husband was at a big hospitalin Wichita, the RN and CNA did come by and introduce themselvesand change names on blackboard but unless you were in direneed it was possible to not see them again. It is mandatoryto have someone with you at all times in big hospital. In Clay CountyHospital care givers were in his room from activity director to thenursing staff all the time. I could not more pleased with the carehe received.
I recieved an outpatient procedure today at the CCMC. Courteous staff contacted me and explained any pre procedure instructions. When I arrived the waiting period was minimal, and I was greeted by friendly staff. The LRNA was extremely knowledgeable and personable. (As were the surgical staff). I felt comfortable, safe and in competent hands.
Got a really bad cyst on my head, was in a lot of pain and needed to be seen. Waited 45 minutes at ER and was told that I probably got MSRA. No sympathy at all Pain meds injected was useless, they did not care and just rushed me out. Go to Via Christi in Manhattan, KS instead of this joke of a hospital.👎
