We switched to Dr Ipsen after having a bad experience with another doctor. Doctor Ipsen has really lived up to his reputation. He took the time to explain everything and was easy to understand. He is very attentive and was very present through the whole thing which is rare nowadays. Surgery went exactly as he explained and went very well. I highly recommend Doctor Ipsen and am grateful for his role in this difficult time in our family.

I suffered a ruptured disc in my neck about 15 years ago. I dealt with the pain for a few years until I finally went to a specialist in Springfield Mo. They took an MRI and advised that I needed to have an immediate disc replacement surgery. Thank God I was too coward to let them do it. After awhile because of prayer and rest, my pain went away but recently flared up. I wasn't sure who to see so I did some research with other people in the area and the most referred to me was Dr. Ipsen. After getting a complete set of new MRI's, I went to Dr Ipsen for his recommendations. He told me that God must have answered my prayers because he would not recommend any surgery at all. He explained that my pain could be managed with physical therapy. I just want to encourage anyone who might have the same feelings or concerns that I had of "Will the Dr be honest or suggest surgery even if it is not necessary?" to take the time for a 2nd opinion with Dr Ipsen. His honesty with me made my day. I have been worrying about this for years and to know that there are Dr's out there like Dr. Ipsen is very comforting. I would definetely recommend Dr Ipsen because of his honesty and integrity.

Honestly, this is by far the best medical practice/office my family has ever been to. Dr. Ipsen is so incredibly kind & compassionate. The entire staff is also incredibly helpful, patient, knowledgeable and respectful. My special needs daughter was well cared for by Dr. Ipsen and his staff. A true gem in Galena, KS!

Dr. Ipsen has done both my neck surgeries. He is caring & has helped me through a problem that was related to the stitches causing an abscess. Not anything he did wrong just me. I recommend him to those needing back & neck surgery.

My son in law was in a boating accident a year ago and burst the L4 vertebrae. He had surgery performed out of town and it was not successful. For over a year he has been in constant pain with no answers. After inquiring around we were recommended to go to Dr. Ipsen. The care and concern from Dr. Ipsen has been refreshing. After performing corrective surgery and removing the previous surgeon’s rods and screws my son in law has been doing great! Dr. Ipsen has done two surgeries for me, cervical fusion and lumbar fusion. He is an honest and upright man, has excellent bedside manners, and I totally trust him 100% to do whatever needs to be done.

I’ll make this quick. After 10 years of neck issues and nerve pain and numbness in hand, I finally found Dr Ipsen. All surgeons before him wanted to do a fusion on my neck but that wasn’t something I wanted considering I am only 40. He recommended a disc replacement. I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome of the surgery and the overall entire staff that I’ve come into contact with. I woke up from surgery with zero pain and it’s been awesome. I had forgotten what it was like to live without pain. They were great on follow up and Dr Ipsen was really good at explaining things before and after surgery. I would highly recommend Dr Ipsen and Ortho 4 states to anyone and have already recommended them to several people.

We came in in a hopeless case. He took us in when others would not. He found the problems that were caused by the previous surgeries, (that he did not perform). He went above and beyond, not because he had to but because he honestly cares. Finding a physician that doesn't treat you as a number, but an actual person is rare. We can not thank him enough!!!

After utilizing all of the specialist appointments allotted by our insurance and scheduling MRIs and x Ray's at every visit they referred us elsewhere with the "you definitely have a major issue requiring major surgery, but you need to go somewhere else speech"

Dr. Ipsen is very caring and took a lot of time explaining reviewing my case and explaining my options. I have had an excellent outcome.
