List of Dennison Hamilton's Reviews
If you are looking for a compassionate doctor, get someone else. I‘be worked with and been around doctors for 40 years and never have encountered anyone as rude as he is. Heaven forbid you have more than one problem. He will only deal with one at a time and not well at that. I have yet to see any pain management out of him.
This doctor is pulling up wrong X-rays, MRI's and so forth, he is rude and arrogant and I think he needs to be checked out by a doctor! He is very mean and rude to his nurses and wont even listen to you at all! He needs to retire! And I want to know who to go to so no one has to go through what I am going through!
If I could give him no rating I would. He has no bed side manner. He doesn't even stay in a room to look you over. He doesn't fill meds on time and then is no where to be found when he doesn't do his job. He is worthless.
I have chronic pain from DDD, nerve damage & neuropathy from chemotherapy & horrible sciatic pain to where I can't bear to sit or stand. My blood pressure was 133/111 in his office from my pain and I have low to medium BP when it's not screaming pain. I seen this Mr Hamilton and I won't use Dr because he did nothing but yell at me then walked out of the room. He even glared at my Mom for even being there with me like she should be afraid of him, which I guarantee she's not!!! I do not ever want anyone to have to endure the visit I had here and will never recommend ever!!!!
I have met with at minimum 20+ Physicians in the past 9 years. I’ve had four failed back surgeries and live in Chronic Pain that has me house bound. Met with Dr. Hamilton and it was the only truly negative experience in an appointment. My husband and and I felt he basically glared at me as I began providing my background and we both felt that feeling that “He had better things to do at that time. “ We excused ourselves early totally confused. The one positive is that his dog was adorable. Minimal discussion, no physical on my back, etc. ???????
This is long but helpful, I will give just the facts no opinion. Dr. Hamilton stated I needed a pain pump. It took months to implant since doctor needed vacations and doctor, receptionist and helpers can never be reached his answering service stated the doctor never wants to be contacted. There is no way to reach anybody unless you go in person but he has at least six locations, good luck finding him. Doctor did what he called the pain pump trial which was just an epidural I didn’t understand. There is a second type of trial the doctor never mentioned called CONTINUOUS INFUSION METHOD which simulates a real implanted pain pump, where the catheter is inserted with the pain pump hanging out side of the body. The pain medication is slowly increased until the pain goes away. The trial can take many days as opposed to the single shot. Demand the CONTINUOUS INFUSION METHOD. During the epidural I was of course awake, I felt a very painful hot sharp sensation from my hip down to my toe in my left leg, this lasted 4-5 days. I had the surgery at Southern Kansas City Surgery center, in the post op I couldn’t cough up the phlegm in my throat and nine weeks later I still can’t because of a severe painful hot sharp sensation from my hip down to my toe in my right leg. This pain hurts all the time, however, whenever I bend my waist, cough, push for bowel or urine movements, laugh, talk hard, sleep on my right or left side, sit up, walk, walk up or down steps or many other things the pain becomes excruciating. The pain advanced to my right hand and is getting worse. Doctor stated he would just keep increasing the pain medication in the pump until the pain goes away, I will have this for rest of my life. I DID NOT GET THIS PAIN PUMP TO KEEP INCREASING THE MEDICATION for a doctor’s mistake. I have seen two other doctors which stated my pain will never go away. Friday night hours after my surgery I had many questions concerning the horrible pain. I left messages everywhere for doctor, I called the surgery center, St Joseph Hospital which owns 51% of the surgery center and some other people. I left messages Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and finally on Tuesday I received a call back. An emergency room or my personal doctor couldn’t help since there was no way to know what pain medicines were in the pain pump and how much medicine it was giving to me. No one needs to have agonizing piercing pain like I did. My implant site is still raw after two months, it feels like the inside of my skin and body are rubbing against metal which is true and painful. Studies range between a 53%-68% approval rate on the pain pump. I wouldn’t recommend doctor or the surgery.
I saw “doctor” Hamilton today for my chronic pain. I also brought my mri information which clearly shows arthritis and a rare condition of the thoracic spine. “Doctor” Hamilton obviously hadn’t looked at my information when he came into the room and declared that he couldn’t see anything wrong with my lower back. He then proceeded to poke me with a toothpick a few times. After this brief examination, which addressed absolutely none of my painful complaint areas, he then wanted to know about my employment status and my source of income. He was done with the appointment and was leaving until I asked him about my pain in my back. He went out to look at the info I supplied and came back in and conceded that I have some arthritis. I finally told him I felt like he wasn’t listening to me. He then told me to find someone else to treat me and left the room. I would not recommend this “doctor” to anyone. Unless of course they like to be judged and made to feel like they have to prove they are in pain. Retire.
He is about the best doctor I've seen for back and hip. He said the next visit he's putting in a pain pump. He showed me the xrays and explained them to me. Anxious for Feb. 18th.

I have seen Hamilton 2 times. He cut me off short when I asked a question.I was seeing him for a inplant for spine painI feel it is reasonable to want information and exactly what will be done. Both visits he jumped up and left exam room.Came back in about 2 minutes.Gave me about 8 - 10 min. of his time each visit.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
