Rashid Mahboob's Online Review Report Card

I am a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic. Dr. Mahboob at ETSU has been very patient and thorough in explaining my illness and working with me to complete goals. It is so unfortunate that he is now leaving as I felt very lucky and fortunate to have been assigned such a good specialty doctor from the start.

I was recently hospitalised and Dr Mahboob tooke really good acre of me. I was impressed by his bed side manners and detailed explanation about problem, diagnosis and management plan.

A very pleasant young and competent doctor. I wish him best of luck.

I was in the hospital for about 5 days and this was the house doctor assigned for my care at Johnson City Medical Center. After having ct scans, ultra sounds, blood work, ect he was unable to come to a conclusion as to why I was having abdominal pain. I was initially admitted for a kidney infection. Well Dr.Mahboob decides that the kidney infection is not what was causing my pain and decided to run the tests that I had mentioned. I do have a history of ovarian cysts and Dr.Mahboob decided that that may be the problem and cause of my pain. Well after having the tests he comes to the conclusion that there is absolutely nothing wrong with me to cause as much pain as I am in and discharges me. And still I continue to throw up and have abdominal pain. He had absolutely no care for my being in pain and ignored the fact that I was still sick and in pain and released me from the hospital. He did not take the other doctor's advice of what may being causing the abdominal pain and vomiting. Two other doctors wanted to do tests to see if I had a gall stone lodged in my bile duct and one other doctor had suggested another tests so they could actually be able to better examine my ovarian cyst. He ignored this and discharged me. I have only been out of the hospital for one day and I am still vomiting and very sick.
