This Dr. would not do the treatment needed for my mom. I went to a completely different gastroenterology group that took the chance and she got better. She had been cleared from cardiac issues and even the cardiologist agreed she needed the necessary procedure that Dr. Salyer refused to do. He was worried about her heart and anesthesia, rightfully so, but she could not make progress without the procedure. Anesthesiologists due anesthesia for risky patients daily. Maybe anesthesia providers should educate him to do his own profession. Lastly, his P.A. is just a yes man to him. Dr. Salyer called me back only when I had requested a second opionion.
I tried to pass off Dr. Salyer's personality with how busy he is. We always were seen in the office by Julie Slade, which is ok BUT, she would never call with tests results. I always had to make several calls for test results before they would talk to me even though it was promised they would call and let me know what the results were. They are too busy to take on any more patients and both lack in personality. I finally had enough and switched to dr that wanted to take time to care. Sorry Dr and Julie but you need help in your caring dept and clinical dept. No excuses.
Except for the >2 hour wait time, I felt confident in Dr. Salyers decision making & evaluation.
I took my friend to "see" Dr. Salyers, but never saw him. Only saw his PA. Then my friend had a procedure pervormed supposedly by Dr. Salyers but procedure was over 5 hours late and again I NEVER saw the doctor! Didn't come out after the procedure to explain what happened! Just sent out a report full of medical jargon and still don't know the results of the procedure. He may have the best or worst bedside manner, but if you never see him it doesn't make any difference!!
Literally run from this office, they are horrible. I have been very sick for over a year now, and they always have me see the PA Julie Slade. This woman is very cold and doesn't listen to the patient. It is her way or no way. It is impossible to get into the clinic to be seen, even if it's urgent. I have spent over a year in misery for Julie Slade to call and say " I don't know what more to do for you" . I have recently lost almost 100 pounds, and found out from tests I have Rapid Gastric Emptying. If Julie would just listen to the patient maybe she could have diagnosed this months ago. Needless to say I will never return to this clinic. Oh and I forgot to say the wait times are outrageous. I have sat in the exam room one time for over an hour.
We never saw the Dr. that we had requested....only saw his PA. She is a cold hearted woman who loves to hear herself talk and go on and on about the specifics and the percentages of this disease and causes...but be forewarned that the PATIENT is undoubtedly the blame for all of their own pain and suffering. It is what you ate or how much you drink or something that the pt did....never mind there is the fact that the Dr's who didn't refer us there never caught any of the abnormal lab work or symptoms that festered for over 30 yrs...it is STILL the PATIENTS fault.....but she WILL point out all the worst possible outcomes....just so you feel better about where you are at....my husband had liver cancer. AND SHE ORDERED THE WRONG TEST TO PROVE THAT IT WAS CANCER....but that delay I'm sure is somehow the patient's fault also....i could go on...RUN!! there have got to be better DR's and and better PA's at any other office in town.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
