I’ve see Doc on several occasions. In life all we want is a medical condition to be resolved. When I’ve seen Doc he did just that. I first saw him in 1993 and that was for dry skin around my hair in my face. This last time 2022 it’s for a wart on my finger. Results, if you truly want it, see Doc.

Dr. Bittenbender led me to believe he would make a small 1 inch incision for a removal and that there would be a fine line left as the scar. The incision was much longer and now my forehead is disfigured with lumps and scaring. I can't afford plastic surgery and my insurance probably won't cover it, but I definitely need it. The scar and lumps look terrible and have severely hurt my self esteem. I also wonder why he left the last practice he was in in Lawrence. Dr. Bittenbender is a very professional dermatologist. He is not very friendly, but does his job very well. We even had a case of a diagnosed that was missed by the other dermatologist in town (and lately been verified by a 3rd party). He removed for us several moles and no marks were left.

well when I first walked in the to office ladies were chit-chatting about ice and being pregnant and it hurting your teeth. Didn't bother to say Hi how are you going to help you today nothing they wait 10 minutes before speaking to me and then get an attitude. The doctor was awesome but customer service at the front desk is the worst!

I saw this guy a couple of years ago. There are only two dermatologists in Lawrence so my choices are limited. I have several suspicious moles, so I made an appointment. The doctor came into the room, did not bother to introduce himself, and immediately started looking at every exposed area of scan I had with a magnifying glass. Without looking up, he asked why I was there. He said that he does not submit any mole removal to insurance companies but instead charges the paltry sum of $150 to remove any five moles of my choice. Because two of the lesions were very itchy and uncomfortable I agreed to this. He had me so rattled that I could only think of four and when I asked for a moment to think about it he just battled right out of the room and said something about not having any time to mess with me (my interpretation ). Not once in that entire visit did he look me in the eye. He was acting as if his time was way too valuable to be spending it on me, even though I was the one doing the spending. He needs training in customer relations, but at his age I’m sure that wouldn’t work. My basic summary is he such a jerk. I really am unable to tell whether he has any knowledge or skill.

I have been under his care for some 20 years and find him to be both rigorously honest and more competent than 99% of the other physicians I have seen over this period. I do wish he had stayed in he old practice where the atmosphere was more relaxed and pleasant to visit. No discredit to Dr. Bittenbender but the new setting seems more like a robotic patient mill than a physician's office. Call it progress if you will, but it now seems totally about $ instead of good patient care. Nonetheless, I give him the highest rating possible.

Great experience. The staff was extremely nice and the doctor was professional and spot on with his treatment. Dr. Bittenbender also treated my son for warts with great success. I appreciated that he was willing to remove the warts the same day as the appointment, and not just give us some cream to apply for 10 months like an other derm did.

Staff was super nice. Dr. Bittenbender is very experienced and has helped me with multiple dermatologic conditions through my life, as well as my children. I can usually call and get an appointment the same day. Great experience.
