List of Jeffrey W Colyer Md's Reviews
Knowledgeable, concerned and skilled surgeon! I could not have asked for anyone better
Friendly and spoke in tens that were easily understood
I had an emergency involving all tendons in my wrist severed by a glass cut. I'm back to normal now 4 months later!
I was almost tempted to go to another Dr because of reviews. I don't know what is the matter with people to review a Dr on personality, he is not there to be your friend! Although I found him to be very personable. I would see him again if I had another accident and needed a PS, without a doubt. Wonderful Dr on all levels.
Jeffrey Colyer is a sexist, pedantic doctor who treated me like a child, spent less than ten minutes with me, and attempted to schedule a significantly invasive surgery for the next morning after taking over a WEEK to get me in on an ER referral. I am SO glad I decided to get a second opinion after my visit to this practice. The other doctor spent much longer with me, explained the situation in concise, medical terminology rather than speaking to me the way you would to a seven year old, and produced an entirely different diagnosis, which required a significantly less invasive surgery. If I had stayed with Dr. Colyer, I would still be in a cast instead of mostly recovered and functional. I’m not sure if he treats every patient he sees like this, or if it’s just because I’m a young woman who came in at the end of the day, but despite multiple questions (and a phoned request for him to speak with my physician relative, in case he would respect them enough to actually explain the procedure) I was given a rushed, infantalizing diagnosis. I’m disgusted by the fact that this man COMPLETELY disregarded my description of what was happening with my injury, and am truly thankful that I sought a second opinion rather than accepting his diagnosis, which would have seriously affected my recovery. You know your body better than anyone—don’t allow a doctor who won’t even listen to what you have to say operate on it.
This has been a LONG time coming and I'm sorry for the delay.Dr. Jeff Colyer, my Wound Care Specialist, saved my lower leg ! ! ! On 30-Jan-2016, my 1993 Harley Davidson Classic Soft Tail Limited Edition Motorcycle was T-Boned by a PT-Cruiser; the driver was speeding (late for work) and texting (his boss) when the accident occurred. I received a fractured left fibula, compound fracture of the medial malleolus and the foot was dislocated from the leg; due to the nature of the injury (see picture) I was transported by ambulance as found with the boot on the foot. In the ER the boot was removed and they discovered 76klbs of force went through my heel and literally split my foot from heel to arch (not pictured, but I'll share it if you ask). I was encouraged to proceed with a below the knee amputation due to the long recovery time it might take "IF" I didn't lose the leg to gangrene - I was given a 5% chance of keeping the lower leg ! ! !Through the top-notch care of Dr. Jeff Colyer, MD and his staff, TODAY I HAVE MY LEG - I am still in recovery, they were also right about that, but I owe everything to them and the Rehab Center in Gardner (see other review) for their diligence and care in the aid of me remaining whole.Thank You Dr. Colyer - YOU Sir Are MY Hero ! ! !
Dr. Colyer has been an excellent experience for me. Has always taken time to answer any questions I've had.
He has done several of my sons surgeries. Always been wonderful and done a fantastic job. Always available for any questions or concerns anytime.
I had a rhinoplasty done by Dr. Coyler for a deviated septum and to remove the bump on my nose. He actually made the bump bigger by doing a cartilage graft and my nose is still crooked after the swelling went down. His nurse removed my packing because he wasn't there I bled badly and still do 11 years later. I'm more self conscious now than ever.
Dr. Coyler should stop his plastic surgery career and go into another business. I had a mini face lift with Dr. Coyler and I can say immediately after the swelling subsided after a month I looked as if I never had any procedure done on my face. I also noticed that he took pictures immediately after the first week so of course it going to look good because my face was swollen. If I were you stay away from Dr. Colyer because he is what I call a butcher. His staff caters to him and put on a good front. This doctor should be put out of business and can you imaging that he is the Lieutenant Governor of Kansas. That should tell you something. Run front him. Not worth the money you will spend to correct his mess.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
