List of Kirk Anthony Mccullough Md's Reviews
I’m in early recovery from torn Achilles’ tendon repair (1 week). All I heard prior is how terrible the surgery is, how painful the surgery is and how terrible the recovery will be. Dr. McCullough, Dr. Stiles and their team of nurses and staff have been absolutely wonderful. Having never had any “real” surgery, it went great. Nothing terrible and really minimal pain. Took pain pills for first 48 hours and then just plain Tylenol has done the trick with consistent foot elevation since surgery. The recovery will be long, but not terrible. Worst part is the inability to drive IF it’s your right foot. Dr. McCullough’s office is busy, because they are good! Everyone there is being seen for important stuff, so expect to wait a little. So far everyone we have dealt with has been kind and caring. Look forward to finishing the process!
I can't give enough praise to this wonderful Doctor I broke my kneecap in October and had to have a full knee replacement in February, but had previously had a meniscus tear and 2 ACL's done on the same knee. He fixed me up and continues to monitor my healing process. He is a caring and compassionate man and the scar from my surgery while noticeable, is not an eyesore. The facility where surgeries are performed is awesome as well. Great nurses, support staff and food! If I ever need an orthopedic surgeon again, I would not go anywhere else!
Dr. Kirk McCullough is a miracle worker! When my daughter injured her ankle in competitive gymnastics, we were certain it was a career-ending injury. Dr. McCullough assured us she could come back and make a full recovery. Our daughter did, indeed, make a fill recovery and is now a collegiate gymnast in the SEC. Thank you, Dr. McCullough!!
Due to an old cheer injury over 5 years ago, I’ve been dealing with shoulder pain and instability. After 2 previous surgeries by other orthopedic surgeons that were unsuccessful, I had pretty much given up hope. In conversation with several people, Dr. McCullough came highly recommend and I scheduled an appt. Dr. McCullough operated on my shoulder just over 5 months ago and I’ve never felt better. Dr. McCullough is honest and compassionate, I would trust him to operate on any of my loved ones. I’m extremely grateful for Dr. McCullough and the outstanding care he provided me.
Great Doctor. Very kind and caring. Wish it was easier and quicker to get in for some things but he is popular. I wouldn’t go elsewhere.
I was referred to Dr. McCullough by a podiatrist and others for chronic issues I was having with my Achilles tendon. I run and bike competitively and being able to run without holding back was my motivation to see a specialist. McCullough explained his experience doing the surgery he envisioned helping my case with other athletes. The procedure involved removing a haglunds deformity and repairing a partially torn Achilles. I'm about 6 months post surgery and things are going very well. I've been able to return to running and am slowly building back strength. Do your research on McCullough and you will find he has vast amounts of experience with the foot + ankle and working with athletes. While some here complain about wait time, just bring a book and prepare questions. It's worth it. You can tell he takes his time with each patient and remembers small details. He was very good at explaining the technical aspects of the surgery and recovery. I'm very grateful for his expertise.

ACL reconstruction flawlessly executed. Excellent surgeon
Great surgeon! Very professional and friendly. Highly recommend!
I was an SEC Champion, I was a National Champion, I was an elite level collegiate athlete... and then I had a career ending injury... After I broke my foot, i went all around the country looking for the most qualified doctors. I was living in Texas at the time. The university surgeon was sure that he could fix the problem. However, I was not convinced that he could handle this. (having seen another team mates career end after this same surgery). We searched and asked everybody we knew for recommendations and somehow we found our way back up to Kansas City. The team and I shopped around looking for doctors and then I met Dr. McCullough. He was SO MUCH BETTER compared to every other surgeon we had met (I had traveled to Texas, Oklahoma City & Finally Kansas City). He changed the game. He we enthusiastic, a total "go getter", and he made me excited to have the surgery. Not to mention, he too was a college athlete and understood what was going through my psyche as an athlete. Above all else, he was the most confident. Not only was the surgery a success, I was able to finish my last season with little issues. He stayed very close with me, answering every question, staying in constant contact with the doctors at Texas A&M University. I do not think you can find a doctor that cares and understand his athletes more than Dr. Kirk. He goes above and beyond in all aspects of his job. I am very lucky to have found him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
