I have been a long time patient at this practice. I have put in multiple calls to the nurse line and called the front office to ask if my doctor was in because I have a serious concern that needed a specific blood test run. It has been almost 3 weeks and still no call back or message back not even from the nurse. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I have since found a new practice fortunately because I now have a significant heart issue that is snowballed into other health issues. It saddens me that this practice with staff who knows my health history was so inconsiderate to my concerns. The new office I am now going to which is not affiliated with St. Luke's took my concern seriously. The front staff listened to my concerns, spoke with the physicians in the office, and the physicians determined I need to come in right away. Their promptness is hopefully going to save me from having a very serious heart issue which is completely preventable with prompt treatment. I do not recommend Blue Valley Primary Care because of their disregard and lack of ability to triage or follow through with serious concerns of established patients. I loved Dr. Abbott because she always listened to me, but something has changed with this office. Due to this I do not recommend this practice. Their unwillingness to take issues seriously can cause serious repercussions to patient health and result in significant damage. Considering I let the nurse know the specific concern in the messages left that is absolutely terrifying. They could not be bothered with ordering a simple blood test or even call back. The issue I presented with is something when caught early is very easy to address before it results in heart damage. The patient is not the focus at this practice anymore.

Dr. Abbott has excellent clinical knowledge and I just love her personality, she is intelligent and kind. Really hard to beat that! I feel like when I see her she pays attention to what I am saying and how I feel. I like the way she reviews labs, I always feel like i know what is going on with my body.

Warning others not to use Dr. Rebekah J Abbott or Dr McKarnin (filled in for Abbott). They don't listen, can't spare two minutes to look into an issue, aren't available for sick visits, prescribed medication with no warning of the withdrawal symptoms, refused to acknowledge my very real health issue experienced by many others because it doesn't fit into their cookie cutter mold of health issues. Dr. Abbott is one of those increasingly rare types of doctors who takes the time to actively listen to patients. She also takes time to make the most out of every visit instead of distractedly rushing from patient to patient. I feel like she is a trusted partner/advisor for whatever health concerns I may have and would recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, empathetic provider.

Dr. Abbott is awesome. She’s friendly, thorough, and really listens to your concerns. As someone who struggled to find a primary care doctor in the area when I first moved here, I’m so glad I found Dr. Abbott! I am confident in the care I am receiving and know I am in good and caring hands. Highly, highly recommend!

Dr. Abbott is great. She listens intently to my concerns, and takes the time to fully explain things to me. I feel these are necessary for great Patient/Dr. trust and care. Almost all I have dealt with at BV office on 151st has been great, including ones that I’ve spoken with when called, checked in with at front desk, RN’s, Techs, and lab. M.H.
