List of Mary Jane Chiasson's Reviews
Never met with me for more than 10 minutes. Would just try one thing then I couldn't see her again for 2 months. Then finally admitted she didn't know how to help me, and didn't help me find a new doctor.
My experience largely mimicked that of all her other reviews - cold, disinterested, dismissive, and unwilling to listen to your concerns/needs. I visited Dr. Chiasson for several neurological concerns I had (headaches, dizziness, vision impairment, cognitive impairment, confusion, and memory loss) as part of an overall deterioration of my health. Despite sharing that I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, she refused to address anything I shared as a valid and logical concern and instead, said "I'll test you for epilepsy, even though I don't think you have it, because it seems like that's what you want". I reassured her that I had not scheduled an appointment, waited 4 months, and taken time off work to "get what I wanted," and certainly not to get a 5 hour, sleep-deprived epilepsy scan. She responded that she didn't know what I wanted and that nothing was wrong with me neurologically. Truly an embarrassment to the Noran organization.
Shallow, uncaring, and seems to parrot her pharma reps. Support staff is quite good and offices are comfortable. Noran management however seems focused on minimizing lawsuits and maximizing profits. If your condition involves any kind of pain, don't bother with them. They only seem to want to treat simple conditions.
Hey 🤙🏼, I love 💗 love 💗 love 💗 Dr. Chiasson it’s always a pleasure to see her, especially now that I’m getting an IV infusion every 3mos not Botox injections. They really helped but really sucked. The infusion is super easy and just as or maybe even more effective!!
Did not seem interested and treatment was unsuccessful for several years.
I am 40yo and I am, I believe, suffering the effects of too many concussions (CTE), first one occurring at 8yo with loss of consciousness. Have had many since then. The effects are ravaging my life to the degree my wife frets over my going to the cabin for a weekend alone. My explanation to the Dr. as to why I was visiting her involved mentioning a public figure who is currently (and unjustly) a victim of today's hypersensitive cancel culture. I take it she doesn't like this person and decided to categorize me as "one of them". I recently found that cannabis helps with lack of sleep symptoms and after I mentioned that, she almost instantly diagnosed my issue as cannabis use causing my symptoms. She fully understood the symptoms came before the cannabis but, nope, 7+ concussions, starting at 8yo can't possibly be the cause. My mind is blown at the utter disregard of the facts in my situation. PLEASE FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR. I want you to get the care you need. Maybe another provider at Noran is less vindictive, but I sense such is the culture there.
I have been to many doctors, she was the most heartless I've ever been to. She also showed nor interest in taking other doctors and tests
She’s been doing a fantastic job helping me with my MS. I think she was a bit rough around the edges when I was first evaluated. She probably thought I wasn’t seriously ill. She quickly realized my condition was serious and is helping greatly with my symptoms.
Dr. Chaisson misdiagnosed me, which I knew at the time but because she kept interrupting me I could not get two words in. She diagnosed me with stress because she didn't want to deal with it anymore. I was talked down to. So I needed a second opinion, so we went somewhere else. They immediately diagnosed me with POTS which was correct.
I have been going to see Dr. Chiasson for 3 years for my migraines. Others have stated they find her cold, I would disagree with that. She’s courteous, listens, and works hard to come up with solutions for your care. If you have to call in between appointments her staff will return a call within a day or two. Honestly that is what I expect for a highly trained neurologist. She has more than met my expectations.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
