List of MIchael Mccue's Reviews
Dr. McCue successfully did a spinal surgery and removed a tumor at T9 for me - restoring life to normalcy for me. The entire experience from consultation to post surgery was awesome, compassionate and informative. Would recommend him any day!
By far, the best if the best, four lumbar vertebrae rejuvenated!
Dr McCue has helped me with 2 lamenechtomy (sp) procedures as well as my carpal tunnel surgery. Great surgeon with incredible beside. I would trust him with anything. Amazing doctor! He listened and heard what I said. I felt confident and safe with my decision.
After 6 or 7 brain surgeries he finally agreed he should never had done surgery even once on me. He absolutely destroyed my life. I will never be the same person after trusting him to do the right thing and to make professional decisions. It seemed more like he was determined to pump up his own ego and "fix" me rather than stay within his limits. He completely turned my quality of life into something I need to endure rather than something I can ever enjoy again. Don't even get me started on his nurse Sharon. I don't think they come any more mean and condescending than that woman.
All I can say is that his head is too big . don't listen . Makes you feel like he is too good but for his knowledge. He stuck in the old world with no people skill. and I was dumb enough to give him another chance. and he would not even see me and made up some BS story. after we sat in the waiting room for and hour and a half. he sent his PA and another neurosurgeon .to tell me there nothing they can do for me after we drove 200 miles they could have done that in a virtual appt. And I ask Dr. McCue about another surgery in my lower back if the screw in my back that sticking through my back was bad he just wouldn't say. he just cover the surgeon butt. And said he trained him
This surgeon did a phenomenal job performing my brain surgery. The surgery happened on March 31, 2009. My check-up was done at regions and it showed I had no visible scar tissue and both sides of my hemisphere were functioning at my 100%. This amazed both my doctors and my neurologists. This surgeon did a fantastic job!
Dr. McCue has been my surgeon since he started 20 years ago when my old Neurosurgeon made a mistake that almost cost me my life. I was 6. I don't remember much from way back then. I am very thankful for him.
Dr McCue showed a surprising lack of knowledge about a 'somewhat' rare nerve disorder. Instead of asking questions-he made me feel dismissed. Possibly he is good at actual surgical procedure but his bedside manner and ability to diagnose seem questionable. I would not recommend him especially if you are in pain and need someone to understand and help.
Dr. Mccue saved my stepsons life two years ago. My stepson had a severe case of meningitis and was brought to Minnesota for treatment. Dr. Mccue performed emergency surgery and some necessary follow ups. The illness was very serious and thanks to his expertise and innovation my stepson survived and now lives a normal life.
He is a smart guy with a great educational background who did exceptionally good surgeries on a close relative and friends, so I trusted him for my spinal stenosis surgery. My surgery went quite differently. Instead on a minimaly invasive one day surgery, there were complications and pain with surgical site inflammation that kept me in the hospital for 4 days. Dr. McCue would stand in the doorway during morning rounds with a beavy of nurses but didn't talk one on one to me or give any answers to my questions about why I was in so much pain and still in the hospital. I got an independent MRI when released which showed a incomplete/botched surgery with the spinal stenosis still intact in the vertibrae that he said would be surgically removed. There was also large areas of infection and fluid not addressed in the hospital. No follow up; when I went to my followup apppointment, scheduled with him for after surgery and he refused to see me. Will have to have another spinal stenosis surgery to finish what Dr McCune didn't do, and to remove the infection and stabilize the area he operated on, left unstable. My opinion is that he has been a brilliant surgeon, but not up to the task in some cases currently. And when things don't go right he would cut off all ties in the hospital and in aftercare.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
