I usually visit the OP location and have always had positive experiences, but unfortunately my recent visit to the Olathe office was very disappointing. Well just the one employee, everyone else was great. The dental assistant (I believe her name was Nicky, or something similar) was extremely rude to my 8-year-old daughter. While flossing her teeth, my daughter said it was hurting her gums, which caused her to move around a bit. Instead of handling the situation with patience and care, the assistant told her that “if she flossed more often, that wouldn’t happen.” Her lip was even bleeding afterward, which made the situation even more concerning. That kind of comment is inappropriate to direct at a child. If there were any concerns about my daughter’s oral hygiene—which, according to the dentist, there were not (she is cavity-free and no improvements were suggested)—that conversation should have been had with me, her parent. When I addressed this with the assistant, she gave a quick apology but came across as dismissive and condescending. It didn’t feel genuine or professional at all. What’s even more concerning is that when I raised this issue with another mom, I was told that this individual often behaves this way, as if it’s something that’s been tolerated. That’s unacceptable—especially in a pediatric setting where patience, kindness, and communication are essential. Working with children requires a certain level of compassion and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking during this visit. Based on this experience, I would strongly encourage the office to address this behavior, as it reflects poorly on the practice as a whole.

My 8 year old had a few baby teeth to take out and everyone there was so compassionate and nice. A special call out today Dr.Whede, Nicole, Aubry and Corrina for being so extremely nice and patient. If we have problems in the future we will definitely be back and will 100% recommend to anyone in the future. Thank you guys for all y'all did!
